Here is the full Motorhead set from Glastonbury If you love the band, then DON'T WATCH the last song.... Overkill is just an embarrassing mess, as Lemmy thinks they are still doing Ace of Spades and sings 2 fucking verses of it!! My toes are still curled up in my shoes with the stress and embarrassment. The rest of the gig is great.... as is the sound quality and picture quality. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQrziwm1YvI

Ok, the link works and I just watched it in full. I was quite upset by a couple of things but for different reasons. First off in the original but not live broadcast yesterday, the show was cut at the end of the drum solo. This was a misjudged edit to say the least. The crowd enthusiasm and reception to Ace Of Spades was good so why couldn't say, Metropolis, not their greatest version, have been edited out instead? The between song banter could have been kept in but this is the BB bloody C after all and it was broadcast just before the watershed. For those not familiar, all naughty words should be broadcast only after 9pm so as it went out from 8.30pm there could have been a bit of fucking trouble. Still. Then... Well you may have seen my Belval Luxembourg review on this thread from earlier this week already so unfortunately it would seem that poor Lem had an attack of forgetfulness, nerves, call it what you will at the end of the show. Perhaps he's been watching those mash-ups on You Tube? Ace Of Spades during Overkill?! Well, they recovered that well I must say. I understand why Motorsmell may have wished a hole had swallowed him up but it wasn't all that bad, was it? I remember his posts on this and the official forum during his halcyon days all of 3 years ago. Night after night you caught 'em on a good run, didn't you Smell? I thought the same initially way back in 2000 at Brixton when I saw Lem play a Hawkwind set one night and a Motörhead one the next. I thought why the fuck isn't he moving? Why is he standing still? He must be concentrating that's it. Fuck me, he's playing big fat chords. He never used to do that did he? The mobile dance around the stage, neck thrashing, finger pumping, bullet belt twanging Lem of yore may not be with us anymore but he's 70 this year for fuck's sake... So without being rude and not to disrespect anyone on this forum, let's put this in context. Yes, it's upsetting that the man is slowing down and getting old in front of our eyes but this is life. Let's be grateful for every fucking note he chooses to play on a live stage. I wish we were all getting younger too but this ain't the curious life of Benjamin Button. We all live our lives, often mediocre, sometimes a little special. I know mine has been enriched by Motörhead even if they made me wanna scream with frustration occasionally. People's tastes move on too but I keep coming back for the same thing that made me feel so alive when I was 14-21 years old. I'm 47 now so on the verge of old fartdom but still... Lemmy and his bandmates continue to give me joy and I hope the black clouds move away and give you joy too. Nil illegitatum carborundum!

Just finished the Glasto vid and think considering all circumstances (as well as my rose-tinted glasses when it comes to Motörhead) it didn't turn out as desastrous as I feared after reading Smell's post. IMO you're just a tad too critical here, mate - no offence meant . As for repeatedly messing up songs/lyrics, might be time to make use of a teleprompter, no need to be ashamed for that - as far as I know Halford frequently uses one as well as Ozzy (whom I last saw in 2005, and it became super obvious as the one time he left the centre of the stage he instantly forgot all the words to Crazy Train :-)) But back on topic- am I the only one who when Phil announces "Bad Magic" (just before Rock It around 34:45) heard him say "..... it's cool as fuck, I play piano on it !" ;D

Yes Regina - he did. Then he said he played really crap piano then pretended to count the number of people in the crowd who would buy it - 671 maybe 670 because a couple were twins!

Unfortunately I could only see the last song live and I was surprised with Lemmy singing Ace of Spades and the background sounding Overkill ... I thought after a full show Lemmy was tired and considering all the adversities brought by the time he was there playing and having fun. Then I saw the whole show and I confess that I liked the gig, I thought at the beginning of the show when they opened with "We Are Motörhead" that Lemmy looked like an old Harley Davidson, the engine takes a while to work, but after work makes a wonderful noise and I think so went the whole show, Motörhead having fun on stage and the audience having fun too. For me after all, that's what it is worth and I'll be, even from afar, ready to greet them!
About Mainstream reviews, I am surprised as this is the same in all countries. They revel in insults and then do a little praise for trying to please both sides ... an bunch of undecideds concluding their reasoning talking about Ace of Spades, nothing obvious. lol

My point is Lemmy seems to be ignorant to the fact that he can no longer do the songs justice live. I think the blokes done enough and he should retire from gigging before it fucking kills him. He always said he would pack it in if he could no longer deliver it just seems no one is telling him the truth. I'm afraid that he's being flogged to death touring so people can build up there pension pot for when he croaks....and really how many more times do we need to see metropolis played live? My last show was brum last year which was also bad. I knew it was over then. I love this band but I also know if Lemmy was in my shoes he'd think the same. Its not about age its about capability and while I bet Lem's still got plenty of good songs in him it seems performing the greatest rnr of all time is over. But each to there own. If folk are happy to watch the great man fade away that's up to them. I can't do it its to sad to see.

im kinda there with smell
i mean i would love to see them again and all that shit, but really, do we really need to watch him getting worse each gig as time passes by.
i'm watching gig right now, i'm at the chase is better than the catch at the moment, even thou show got better after few songs, we are motorhead and damage case were horror to watch and listen to.
and i kinda still dunno should i just skip overkill of spades, i hate to watch such things....

Maybe Lemmy just needs more days off! The band has played many gigs in the last weeks (Rock am Ring Germany, Graspsop Metal Meeting, Hellfest...) I think he needs to slow down in touring more than he already did...
