We already have a lengthy discussion regarding the album, but I think a rating poll may be handy. After a day and a half, I give it 4/5. Pretty good. "Trigger" and "One Night Stand" are amazing. Actually, most of the album is, but it has its quirks, in my opinion. "Kingdom..." is too gutteral for my liking. I don't like the style of "Living in the Past" (although I still like the song), and the second chorus in "Be My Baby" is a let down (following the stunning pre-chorus bit). I pass the floor to you. ADMIN EDIT: the previous part of the discussion can be found here.

4/5 Sucker, One night stand, Trigger, God was never on your side, Christine and Kingdom of the worm are the best ones. No track feels like a filler really so all are at least good. Going down feels a bit like "Shut you down", or something left on the shelf from 1916...

... Going down feels a bit like "Shut you down", or something left on the shelf from 1916... according to a post on the o-board that song was written by todd campbell - maybe he was inspired by some of dad's old recordings? for the rating: the more i hear it the more i like it - and imo it has one of their best songs ever: "sword..." ;D therefore 5/5! (better as "inferno"? to me, yes!!!

Going down feels a bit like "Shut you down", or something left on the shelf from 1916... Yeah, it sounds like older Motörhead. I wasn't too fond of it at first, but it's grown on me a lot since I first heard it.

The solo on Sucker will be good live if you fill it up with some strobes...

I would just like to add what a wonderful bass solo Lemmy plays in "Devil I Know". Excellent!

Going for a 4/5 myself. It does have a couple fillers to me, but I consider that normal. Album is bloody good indeed, plus it's also a grower. Doesn't hit the peak of Inferno and Bastards for its style, which is a lot more old school than other recent Motorhead. KoD (Kiss of Death) really sounds and feels like the bastard offspring of Orgasmatron and Overnight Sensation, if that makes any sense. Very good, even if I do prefer metal Motorhead. Highlights so far: Trigger, One Night Stand, Living in the Past, Christine (which gives a whole new meaning to "ace of spades" ). Wonderful booklet. Possibly the best cover art yet. Coupla questions: Where's Lemmy Sez? Where's R.A.M.O.N.E.S.?

I see. Is it a live version, a re-recording, or what?

3 for me. Still getting into it but seems a bit average & hasn't hit me like Inferno did. Maybe time will tell..........

I see. Is it a live version, a re-recording, or what? It is a brand new studio recording. But, the original is better, so you're not missing much. Throw 1916 in afterwards. Or, better yet, Stagefright. It sounds EXACTLY the way they play it live. (Minus crowd sound, a little more clarity). I wondered the same thing about Lemmy sez. I was disappointed. I notice that the first half is ace. Fucking perfect. Once past "God Was Never On Your Side", every song has some kind of quirk. I still maintain that this might be one of their best yet, though.

What I'm really liking in this album is its honesty. Don't get me wrong. Not saying that other Motoralbums weren't honest. But compare Lemmy going heavy on sex metaphores in Christine, or heavy on politics in Sword of Glory, with the sublime, yet generic horror epic of Terminal Show. Get what I mean? It's the same with the artwork. Kiss of Death feels especially uncompromising to me... which is good. It's the same with Maiden's A Matter of Life and Death. Down to earth, political, and uncompromising. Green Day did the same with American Idiot. As a writer I'm feeling a similar urge. I guess that fits the climate of the world. Artists are beginning to go sick and tired.
... yeah yeah, I know, I talked about myself as an artist, shouldn't have, I know, whatever ;D

I thought I put a reply on here. Anyway, I hate it. Worst Motorhead album ever.
