I didn't really want to see or hear anything Motorhead related for a few days last week after I heard about Lemmy. I have listened to a little bit of TWIY this week but mainly I have been watching interviews from various years and getting a good laugh here and there. The live clips are still hard to watch knowing that we'll never see that again.

Funny you should say that, I didn't realise it until you put it that way, but I've been behaving in a similar way. 2 days or so when I just watched the TV News articles, feeling a bit spine-tingly, and then a few Motorhead tracks played in the car the other day.
But since then, just YouTube interviews..... I wonder if we are all in denial? i.e., he hasn't really gone if we can see him talking on the screen? I don't know, maybe a psych-analyst would know.
But, what really hit home is when a robotic phone call from a computer voice at Ticketmaster told me that 'due to the passing of Ian Lemmy Kilmister, the tour was cancelled, and they were refunding me £190 for the 4 tickets I had booked for 2 gigs. That was a bit stark! I don't want 190 fucking quid, I want to see Motorhead!

I'm still struggling to believe it to be honest. played some live stuff from the late 80's and it dawned on me that 3/4 of the line up are dead. That I can not believe.
Long live Phil Campbell

I was in no mood to listen to any of the sad songs so far. Only happy or brutal Motörhead. Today I listened to Angel City. Then Ramones comes up, then 1916. It's the first sad song since the death, and then I realize 1916 was a hundred years ago. It's heavy.

Angel City! Been listening to that a few times in recent days, that beautiful swagger that typified Motorhead and Lemmy. Such unique and well structured lyrics;
'.... playin' with chemical toys, with such bad-ass dudes, I almost can't stand it myself'
'... I'm gonna be an intellectual, heterosexual..... Angel City tonight'
We'll never hear the like again.

I am ok now..... but in the first day, I couldn´t listen any song... Trying to figure out life without Motorhead... I ve asked myself the sense of continue to collect Motorhead items... Got an answer very fast... Need to show my son Ian, the importance of this band and his leader to the rock'n'roll and his dad. I am fear a little bit for the future of all these things around us.. . I meant, the official website.. this forum. all the cult to the band. Sure the legacy is there... but without the man.. the idol , the hero, things tend to die a little too.. Sorry if sounds to negative... but sadness is endless... cheers

Marco, I wouldn't fear too much about the Official Motörhead page; the marketing department will be running at full steam already and they'll certainly keep going as long as there's enough stuff to promote ( and their average users will pipe up with amazing statements such as "Lemmy is God!" or "Motörhead for Life!" while proudly showing off their Snaggle-tats and toddlers/pets in full Motör-gear) *sarcasm-mode off*
As for small, privately-run forums such as ours I'm afraid I share your pessimism. Motörhead being the ONLY common denominator is simply not enough of a subject matter to make it sustainable in the long run, so as long as the vast majority of "guests" take it solely as an info board while they browse the web for news, I too am worried it'll go down the shitter sooner or later. Just as an example, we had 1500+ guests online the day Lemmy died (I kid you not), while just about 30 cared to log in to participate actively. I mean, when if not that day?
Hope time will prove me wrong.

I keep struggling with the fact I missed one of their last shows here in the US. But then I think about how frail Lemmy was getting by then and I am glad I saw them in 2011 before the health issues. . Still would have loved to seen that show last Sept. The main thing is experiencing a new year with no Motorhead since 2008 for me. I know it has been a lot longer for most of you. To be honest, I don't really have a heart for music at the moment. I am supposed to go see AC/DC in March but other than that, going to see a live show just doesn't appeal to me now. Nothing excites me musically any more like Lemmy, Phil, and Mikkey did.

Miss the old rotter...even though I had come to terms with not seeing them live again in 2014 I still looked forward to new releases, interviews and even just bits of wisdom from the colonel...feels like a much shitter place now he's gone...a great loss to us all

To be honest as much as its obviously a great loss I ,personally, feel gutted that we wont have any more new releases.But as for live shows,we all knew it was coming to an end, with possibly this being the last tour anyway. And because we all saw how frail he was becoming I cant say I was surprised that Lemmy passed away, although the timing was quicker than I expected. I found it uncomfortable watching any interviews with Lemmy over the last couple of years ( I would rather read what he had to say) . I think,for me anyway, had it happened say 5 years ago it would have been harder to take. But life goes on, and I get as much enjoyment out of seeing bands like Machine head and the Prodigy and I can always listen to plenty of my Motorhead stuff ( and I have lots of bootleg cd's that I am going through at the moment ) Long Live Motorhead

Being relatively new to the Motörhead-congregation doesn't make you a lesser fan than anyone of us, meanmachine ~ no need to feel apologetic here. Some of us mourn The Man himself, some are more saddened by an era now irretrievably gone. It's all perfectly fine.

Nearly a month and still I cant believe it. It's absurd to be honest. Everytime I hear "God Was Never On Your Side" tends to bring me into or near to tears. Being the first song I listened after I got the news and being also one of my personal favourite songs.

Last night was a night I was expecting to see Motorhead for the last ever time. For the last 7 years(ish) every Motorhead show was with my son and me Mam and we was always at the back of Hammersmith, Brixton, or around the sound desk at Newcastle City Hall. After the last 2 cancelled concerts I went and got a ticket to be at the front of the City Hall (like I used to be!) so I could thwak me head on the stage for 1 more fucking time no matter how the show would have been I would've been proper satisfied. It wasn't meant to be though. So how am I feeling after Lemmy's death? I'm still kind of in shock coz this is how he wanted it to be I suppose. It's just I reckon I'm being mega-selfish coz I just wanted one last time. Bloody heck, I even thought I'd get to see the Bomber at last!
But my big big big BASTARD problem is this....there is no other band that made me boogie like that. There is no other band that made me look forward to something like they did. I am a big massive music fan, dare I say it I'm a big massive rock n' roll fan, but what is there left?? That's my loss, that's my uber-gap in music. Everything now is in the past, music-wise, and that is a horrible thought.
So how am I feeling after well over 2weeks of Lemmy's passing? Lost. And wanting to shout at strangers very fucking loudly, especially if they happen to be wearing authority uniforms ahahahaha!!!!
Tell you all what though, if anyone is around Newcastle from this forum then you're always invited for a drink and some very c**ting loud true Rock n'Roll, alrite??
2016 = shite
