Pre-ordered the white vinyl/cd package from Nuclear Blast Records. Not long now Nice tip Mark! I've done the same. Some good stuff on their site but I'll content myself with the new album for now. It comes out on my wife's birthday so I'm not allowed to forget that one...

Not pre ordered yet, but will sort that this weekend. New Motorhead, Maiden and Saxon all in the space of a month, which is nice

I hope she appreciates all this

I listened to T&L but that's all waiting for the album. It's still exciting after all this time. I liked aftershock and I would like to hear more tunes like Mean Machine & Locomotive faster the better in my book. Roll on Jan anyone doing both Hammersmith nights

Found another one: myglobalmind.com/2015/08/13/motorhead-bad-magic-review/To be perfectly honest, I'm not overly happy with all these pre-reviews and -releases as I'm convinced they actually take away from me being open-minded and unbiased when it'll eventually come to judging the real thing on 28th this month. I'd rather go un-influenced (is that even a word, never mind, you know what I mean, don't you) ~ but naturally couldn't resist listening/reading ..... I'm only human after all. I think.

The album is already on the web (to download via torrents, illegally, of course)... I downloaded it but I haven't listened yet, no time. I guess on the weekend I will be able to listen it properly. And who knows when the hell it is released here... I hope before xmas

I pre-ordered mine ages ago but unfortunately on the 28th I'll be doing the first of 3 long-ass night shifts so won't get to hear it until Monday *sigh*. I could whack it on in the car but I want to do it properly, so I'll wait til I'm not working, lock myself in the study/man-cave with a bottle of Jack and crank it up to hear it in its full glory and with no distractions haha! I've only heard Thunder and Lightning and Electricity so far, am saving the rest for when the hard copy is in my hand! I'm actually hoping it sounds more like 'The World Is Yours' than 'Aftershock' though.....or even better, like some of the older ones

I got back to my apartment after work on Tuesday. It was my birthday and I figured, well call up You Tube on the old Smart TV. Thought I'd have a boogie and jam along to the animated Electricity promo and do some Motorkaraoke as I'm sure my neighbour downstairs thinks I'm insane. Fuck him anyway, he plays drum 'n' bass! What do I find but two postings of the full album. ? happy fucking birthday to me! Got the home brew out and made an afternoon of Bad Magic on rotation. Strange thing was, after a while a big thumbs up appeared next to the cover. How did that happen. My WTF moments continued when The Devils came on. I guess if you manage to speed it up there is some amusing hidden message like there was on Nightmare/The Dreamtime. Meh... Of course, I've bought the white vinyl Nuclear Blast special which is no longer a gatefold due to a technical error at the pressing plant. Did someone fall asleep or something? Plus, I ordered the deluxe copy with patch etc so no one can really accuse me of stealing the band's music by taking a sneaky peek on You Tube. Sympathy For The Devil cover is a standout with a less obvious - to me anyway- treatment. Spoiler alert, the album is quite grungy in places. There are traces of the old boogie woogie here and there and even an enjoyable ballad. This one needs a few listens before it grows on you as otherwise you get a sense of.was that it?! At least I did initially. They chose the two singles well I think as they also stand out. The mix I heard was a bit muddy. Don't know if this is due to streaming here on the copies posted or what. I look forward to a few more listens to decipher the lyrics as some sound, quite understandably slurred. Lem's voice is more of an instrument than at any other time in their career as it fills out some of the bass frequencies omitted by his unorthodox bass settings. If I have one criticism so far it is that the album doesn't really swing - that isn't to say it won't after a few more listens. I think comparisons with other Motörhead tracks are a tad unfair in a couple of reviews I've seen. To me, there is no obvious lifting from previous tracks but more extensions of what went before. That's alright in my book. I'm just an impatient bastard and couldn't wait so there! I haven't gone into much detail here as I'll save that for later as I'm sure you'll make your own judgement. Just keep an open mind and get a little drunk before you listen is all I say.

Great post as always DR, I really like your little stories like in the 1st paragraph, just wish my language skills were proficient enough for a writing style like yours. (and Happy belated Birthday btw.) I took the day off tomorrow and shall pick up my copy at 10 o' clock sharp at the local record store, then rush home like greased lightning and - just like Rai - spend the weekend with Bad Magic on an endless loop. And a diet of basically cold pizza and lukewarm beer, I suppose, so don't expect a sound and sober judgement before some day next week. Happy listening everybody!
