Heh. I kind of realized that Legacy had never been up after posting that. But it's so cool that it deserves the spotlight. Live performaces are ace too ;D Hope I didn't spoil any secret talking about Legacy!

Nah, was just too lazy to post when i first recorded it, and forgot to add it later.
Thanks... I wish I hadn't butchered Tycoon, though.... In retrospect, it was a poor choice for an opener.... I should have started with something easy.

You just CAN'T butcher Tycoon. Too much of a monolith. And I like a lo-fi touch in your stuff. It's the Nirvana touch, the Something In The Way touch.

I am getting betters videos of the show soon. I'm not going to post those, but I will be ripping the audio to make some half decent mp3s. Here I go, treating open mics like huge gigs.
Concept album is picking up a bit. No songs finished yet, but I have a lot of parts down which will be developed into full songs. This should eventually speed progress up. I am aiming for about 14 songs or so. I am really excited about one song I have been focusing on lately, which will probably be called "As Nomads". It sounds big and melodic. Will probably be over the five minute mark when it's done.

As usual, the fanboy here awaits and speculates. How's it going?

It is going well... I am thinking of throwing Tycoon and Back to the Hollows in... I shall need to change a few lines and beef up some of the arrangements to fit. Who knows.... I don't have any songs complete, but I have most of them figured out for the most part. It will still take a while, as I have other priorities, but it's looking more promising every day.
That Origins thing I sent you a while back is being paired with this heavy metal edged acoustic song I've been working on. It will end up being a 2 or 3 part epic towards the end of the album... Probably the before last song. Some of it sounds... evil. It's all very exciting.

Sounds like you're going through a similar development process as I am. You've sailed on a ship, you're going through the storm, and the sheer mass of the ship is making you grip the handles. Ah, epic's so epic.
(I know how it is)

This As Nomads song evolved a little more... It now features mid verse key changes which, somehow, flow quite nicely. They wrote themselves, really. When it's done, this song just may be my best. It also will not have a distinct chorus. More of an occasional coda... Maybe a nice bridge somewhere... But it's a little along the Baba O'Riley lines. Throwing in a nice instrumental break in the middle as well.
Right now, it's quite eclectic. I'm trying to make things concise by working them all together. The bulk of the album will need three guitars. The songs are all starting off as instrumentals. Which is going to make singing rather difficult, because the guitar parts are all fairly intricate. My options are to find another singer (A Roger Daltrey of sorts, to continue the Who comparisons, where I can still be like Pete and do some leads, and lots of harmonies), or become really good and singing while playing lead guitar. It will take eons to teach some of the guitar lines to others, so I will likely have to play the more detailed bits. It's fairly ambitious, but lots of fun. I need to double back a bit and revisit some sounds I haven't fully explored in new songs. And I am reasonably certain now that some incarnations of Tycoon! and Back to the Hollows will make the album. The most difficult part will be to write the finale. I will do that last, of course.
So that's my update for now. The pace is really starting to pick up, now.

Someday, I'll be quoting your stuff somewhere ;D (I'm abstaining to do it now as I don't want to leak your lyrics)

Quote away. There are no egos here. I don't even know if any the lyrics I have so far will be consistent when I record the songs properly.

There will be a new(ish) song up on the page when it gets approved. Should be up soon. It is about as happy and uplifting as any song crafted in the depths of hell; it's the musical equivalent of sunshine in a negative photograph.
I don't know what will become of the song in the long run, if anything. Might borrow the guitar line for something else. Who knows.
Turn it up loud, but only if no one is around. It is an odd number. I'm sure there is some stigma it could tack onto a person.

Is it the Pariahs one? Man, it sounds like out of a nightmare. Your description was quite fitting. LURVE IT, of course. It buzzes a bit through my speakers but they suck with low frequencies. Need to iPhone it. Where can I download it? ;D

e-mailed. Glad you like it! It was a dull acoustic song I was trying to write until I played it with fuzz distortion. It took off from there.
The sound effects were done simply with a guitar slide and pitch shifter effect. This was probab;y the most fun I've ever had recording anything.
