I am working on a new song which will likely take the place of chaos at the next set.... Don't have lyrics yet, but I have the guitar parts down... Written as a folk song, but sounds like a blues number... A bit... Tentatively called "Sumerian Legacy". I think it's the best thing I've done since Tycoon. Well, it will be when I finish it, anyway. It sounds big. Four guitar tracks in all. Only two actual parts, but I played them on both acoustic and electric, and tossed them all together. I want to finish it tonight, but that probably won't happen... Will probably be done early next week, I am guessing.

I've finished the lyrics, but won't get to record until tomorrow or the day after. I keep toying with the mix of the instrument tracks. I'll probably be sick of the song by the time I finish it.

Isn't it like it with every work of art? Or something similar?
Halfway through a novel I'm usually on the verge of ripping my own head off.

This is true. My brother is in the final stages of editing his first book, but before finishing the first draft, he kept reviewing what he had already written. It's funny, because it will make a marginal difference at best to the audience, but to the artist, one small detail could make the whole difference between pride, and that nagging feeling of thinking "Fuck, I really should have done that differently".

Yeah. Oh kudos to the brother. Nationwide publication? What's it about?
;D

He doesn't have a publisher yet. He will start searching when he finishes revising. It's a crime novel. Inspired by James Patterson books, I believe. I haven't had the chance to finish reading the draft yet, but it is quite impressive.

If he can get an agent, have him stick to him/her by all means. Agents are bliss.
Oh and kudos again ;D

As I said I would do, I have rewritten Chaos, and it is now back to the Hollows, with 50% new lyrics, reworked vocal melodies, and a simple rhythm guitar part. It makes more sense now, and is probably still going to be played next time we perform. I haven't rerecorded it yet, but might do so sometime soon.

Open Mic, November 5th. Ended up being a solo set.
I opened with this... I hadn't heard myself through a mic in a long time, so I keep seeing sharp notes.... But it's ok. Quality is awful, though.
EDIT: I apologize for the hair. My GOD!
New version of Every Spoke on the Wheel
Cover of "Psalm for the Elks Lodge Last Call" by a Canadian band called the Weakerthans:
So-so performance of Back to the Hollows
I sang a lot better by the end of the set. I closed with a cover of Tom Waits' "Hold On"
