I must have a different version of My Apocalypse on my copy. Nearly every review I have read are touting this as one of the highlights on the album, but all I got is this dull thrasher.
The rest is good, though.

I can't get enough of this album. I would place it between ...And Justice For All and Black album. The one song I can't stop listening to is "All Nightmare Long", even my father (63 tomorrow) likes that song.
Rick Rubin is a great producer, and it was only a matter of time he got on board the Metallica Express. Thank fuck Bob Cock has gone...never liked that man.

A Swedish newspaper didn't like it and the opinion about the album was that it wasn't very good. After the review had been published the recordcompany called the paper up and canceled a long time booked interview... Not a coincidence, imo... I heard it was because they reviewed an illegal copy of the album which had been fan edited to shorten the songs. I really like the album though. Only song I skipped was Unforgiven 3 which sounded so dreadful over the first minute or so that I couldn't listen any more. The mastering isn't a problem when I've listened in the car. Maybe it's more apparent on headphones, although it is loud. I just turn down the volume.

I'm listening to the album now on my computer, got it up loud and even put it down quietly...no problems for me.
Though I got to re-learn how to air guitar to Metallica...my fingers are sore from all these solos haha!!!

I think the thing is brilliant. I'd give it 4 stars out of 5. OF COURSE, me being me, I had to buy the FUCKING HYPER DELUXE LIMITED EDITION COFFIN BOX. It's glorious. I's got two extra discs, and a flag, and a t-shirt, and guitar picks, and two little coffin keychains... GEE ;D
Highlights: Suicide & Redemption, The Unforgiven III.
No, really.
;D

News item in this weeks Kerrang! magazine:
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has defended the audio quality of the band's new album Death Magnetic after some fans complained the mix sounded distorted. "Listen, there's nothing up with the audio quality" Ulrich told Blender. "It sounds fucking smokin'!".
I guess we been told than. Metallica Good.....Fans Bad!!!!

I've only heard it on my car CD player but I have to agree with Lars. My copy sounds great.

I think it sounds decent. Not stellar, but good. Production wise, the best sounding album was Load. Really. Had a lot of punch.
