Does anyone know where these three tracks come from? Treat Me Nice and You Ain't Gonna Live Forever sound like they're from the same session, and the instrumental Fun on the Farm sound like it's from another. Anyone have any idea what era these tracks are from? As far as I can tell, they first popped up on the Stone Dead Forever comp in 1997 (which is where I have them from). One thing that strikes me as odd is the drumming on Treat Me Nice and You Ain't Gonna Live Forever doesn't sound all that much like Philthy. Maybe it's just me.
Bumping my own thread because it's pretty clear to me that Treat Me Nice and You Ain't Gonna Live Forever are from the March or Die sessions. Listening to them now, I'm not sure how that wasn't obvious at first. I don't know if they're rehearsals or excluded tracks (Treat Me Nice is basically You Better Run, so maybe an early/demo version), but the production and performance is identical. Oh well. Maybe someone will find that info useful.
These are all tracks that were recorded around the Bomber? / Ace of Spades albums. They were,as far as I know, tracks that didn't quite make the albums, so it obviously makes Philthy the drummer involved. Good tracks aren't they
I'm not so sure about that. Go back and listen to Treat Me Nice and You Ain't Gonna Live Forever, then go and listen to something from March or Die. The production, Lemmy's voice, and the drumming sound much more consistent with that album than with Bomber/AoS. Fun on the Farm, however, is from those sessions.
Not to beat a dead horse here, but what makes you sure of that?
Edit: Listening to those two tracks again, I'm hearing two rhythm guitar tracks, which would indicate to me it was recorded when Phil and Wurzel were in the band. And that solo at the end of You Ain't Gonna Live Forever has Phil Campbell written all over it. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, as it's possible Eddie recorded two rhythm tracks with two different tones. I don't really know where they came from, but they're pretty great tracks. I just feel like there's some info missing here. Fun on the farm is definitely a Lemmy/Eddie/Philthy track, though. That's Eddie's tone and Philthy's drumming if I've ever heard it.
