I'm sure all of us here on the forum would love to wish Ian Fraser Kilmister a very happy 70th birthday and thank him for all the pleasure he's given us over the years. Three score years and ten is what we're supposed to get. Here's hoping there's a few more years in the great man yet. Happy Birthday Lem. Hope you get laid today and win the jackpot on the fruit machine today!

Many happy returns to the Great Man for today... 70 eh? He was supposedly too old to form a band in 1976, but thankfully he did, and I can never remember a time in my life without Motorhead.
My birthday tomorrow too, and my best present would be a fit and healthy Lemmy, continuing to make my life a better one, for a few more years to come!

Happy Birthday Lemmy! I was late to the Motorhead party (Only been a fan since 2008) but I have more respect for the band every passing year. Hope you have a fun time in Vegas tonight. Here's to a great 2016 for you and the band.

You weren't to know mate.... you are a great man of Motorhead, and we have all said things that we have to reflect on now. We saw Lemmy getting weaker, some of us wanted him to pack it in, others wanted him to perform in any condition. We are what we are, lovers of the greatest band that ever was.

Thanks dude. It's so bizarre how you can know with complete clarity that a thing is going to happen quite soon, and still be convinced it won't happen ever. We really are a great community. The love I felt over the years and in these days, man.

The love I felt over the years and in these days, man. Yes I agree-we are a great community.Hopefully it wont stop because of what has happened. In my early years of following the band (1984 onwards) it was me and my mates/girlfriend ,bumping into a few other regulars on the way.But since the internet it really has been like a family. In fact the last couple of years the meetings we've had before the gigs have turned the excitement of seeing the band into (nearly) a whole day event. So to all those ive met over the years all the best and hopefully we can still meet up for a few beers and honour the Great Man himself
