Ispired by the Worst of Motörhead thread! As the title says. Tell us about strange and amusing episodes from gigs you attended. For instance, remember that time we had that No Sleep summit at Swedenrock and Cope met his Swedish twin? I do! They were almost identical, he and this complete stranger, they had the same shade of sunburn, and they immediately started this very intricate small talk about the weather, both enjoying it immensely. It was like Cope plus a magic mirror.

When I went to see the Motörhead show at Rock in Rio in time to return I discovered that my ticket did not include bus fare. The site was removed from the city, it was already morning and I was lit for two days. Then I got in line anyway, I gave my card to the security pass at the turnstile and obviously the card has failed. He asked me about and I said I didn't know why the card had failed. I still don't know why the hell the security let me go anyway. There are still people in this world with heart. lol

Last summer when we went to "With Full Force" (a trip of 500 bloody kilometers primarily to see Motörhead, only to find the gig cancelled ), we met some pretty weird The Walking Dead - fanclub in full gear on the festival site, of which this zombie-snapshot perfectly illustrates the sanitary conditions: Attachments:

genius, Rick, bet the theatre royal doesn't do rock gigs anymore! One of my favourites was just a showstopping piece of showmanship, the band were crap but got a huge cheer for this. A band called Sergeant opened for Accept in 1984 at Hammersmith, mid-song the singer was taken ill and walked round back of amps, threw up and made it back to the mic for the start of the song, bloody class what a guy

Not sure what the wierdest thing was that I saw at a concert, but this must be up there. From Ozzfest in 2010

aah festival toilets, now there's a thread....! Remember the blazing hot day that was Monsters of Rock UK August 1984, the smell was dire. Thinking aloud, 1984 was probably the single best year for gigs I ever had, Accept Saxon Marillion Gary Moore, Whitesnake, Dio,MAiden, Big Country, Queen, Motorhead, TWsited Sister, Motley Crue, UFO, Quo's "farewell" tour, AcDC Van Halen Ozzy et al at Donignton and only a car crash robbed me of Metallica at the Lyceum. Halcyon days indeed

WHilst you have youth on your side, you missed a cracking year! I even saw U2 in 1984 and they were really good, which shows you how flipping long ago it must have been.....! Motorhead came round twice in the UK that year , the Mayhem Day May new lineup gig and then the winter tour. And I had no gray hair either

I really think I was born in the wrong decade. Also I started getting white hair at 26. It runs in the family.

We were spoiled in the 80s, music industry was still album-tour driven and the product had to flow. How the hell most of the bands we love kept up that quality of output in the relentless cycle they were in I'll never know, but every year more or less the bands toured. And not arena shows, great old concert halls dripping with atmosphere (and weed). I know it's maudlin cos some of the heroes are passing on - Jon Lord/Gary Moore/RJD for instance, but those memories are entrenched for me. I sound like an old git now, sorry!
