megadeth cold sweat is terrible IMO! I do like Van HAlem doing Pretty Woman, mind you. Diver Down is my fave VH record

Surely not better than Fair Warning? I think Diver Down is a patchy record, bogged down with too many cover versions. That Dancing in the Street version is cringeworthy IMO

I think Diver Down holds together better than any other original VH record, the covers and the sequencing really work for me, it may be that it was the first I got by them but I do think it is head n shoudlers above the other DLR era stuff. 1984 is not a great record to me compared to DD. And yes I think Cold Sweat by Mustaine n co doesn't work, can never work out Mustaine

Rosalie - Motörhead - Thin Lizzy or was it Bob Seger originally? At Cambridge Corn Exchange Lemmy nailed the vocal City Kids - Motörhead - yup, the Pink Fairies tune God Save The Queen - Motörhead (this came in for some criticism but I think the video is just wonderful) Back In The USSR - Lemmy but probably some others from... Tie Your Mother Down - is that Motörhead again?
I know they canned the covers idea for an album a couple of years ago but they do a mean cover, don't they?

I think some covers become the definitive version of the song, Lizzy made Roaslie their own. Joe Cocker made a silk purse from a sows ear with "With a little help from my friends". And Bauhaus doing Ziggy is better than the original.
