Is anyone going to the Sonisphere festival this year? It's going to be mental. Im doing some ambassador work for the festival and I have a code for people to use when buying tickets, basicly if enough people use my codes I can earn myself a ticket (poor student here) but it can win you prizes like back stage passes etc. So if you are purchasing tickets, get them from the Sonisphere website and click on the ambassador’s code and enter SF96L. But please if you don’t win use my code...I’m desperate to go. So is anybody going? What Bands do you want to see? SAbs weren't great were they, but not entirely unexpected. I think UK festival market is saturated, 2 big 3-dayers plus Bloodstock, next year will be grim as no obvious headliners at all

Well no Sonisphere and the Download line ups are scraping the barrel a bit IMO. Is this the beginning of the end for these festivals? I suspect not as I reckon a lot of the people who go don't give a rats arse who plays. they're just there for a weekend of booze and who knows what else. I'm skipping Download myself this year, i normally do one of the festivals and it's usually Download. Just can't justify the cost for Kiss, Slipknot and Muse. I think the Friday line up at download is strong enough for me -slipknot , priest ,5 finger death punch and now sylosis. trouble is I have to pay for my lad now,and the misses wants to go and see slipknot again,which then means I have to take my daughter. so that's 4 adult price tickets and food/drink so it aint gonna be cheap. therefore is it worth around £350 just for that. probably not.

Or don't go Download and do the smaller ones? I'm pissed off that Steelhouse is the same weekend as Ramblin Man, poor planning by both sets of organisers. Much as I like my hairmetal, Crue n Kiss don't tempt me one bit at Download.
I am doing a couple of punk festivals this year, and saving my pennies for Motorhead and Rush when they finally announce
£350 for a day out is too rich for my blood, call me a cheap sod
