Oh well, another week another gig.......sigh it's a hard life! Yet another band I'd been waiting to see, and I'm glad to report it was worth the wait! As with the previous tour two years ago, there is no support act, but there is a screen showing some footage of the band jamming, recording and generally dicking around. Right on cue, the screen drops, and the band are already on stage ready to rip into "Hail the Leaf". The band are on awesome form, and the crowd go apeshit. Phil Anselmo is on top form, a changed man who seems grateful to every member of the audience - the arrogance of old has gone. I daresay certain unfortunate events in his life over the past 4 years has made him grow up a bit, and not before time. The crowd appreciated this, especially when Phil touchingly dedicated "Lifer" to Dimebag Darrell - it was quite something to be part of 5,000 screaming "Dimebag" at the top of our voices. It could have brought a tear to a glass eye I shit you not. The band played the first album almost in it's entirety, about half of Down II, and again half of Over the Under. Overall, the band played an absolute blinder, and Phil Anselmo was back to his best form. Phil Anselmo and Pepper Keenan Phil Rex and Pepper Kirk "Capt Spaulding" Windstein and Pepper Pepper Keenan

I was there. Standing (headbanging) quite close to you judging by those photos. That was one hell of a gig.
