Eddie Clarke listed among notable deaths of 2018 by the BBC: Notable deaths of 2018 www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-46635152“Eddie Clarke Guitarist - the last remaining member of British heavy rock band Motorhead.” They didn’t get it quite right (should have been last remaining member of classic trio or similar), but it’s nice that they included Eddie. The fact that they chose the term heavy rock instead of heavy metal is also appreciated (blackadder, you must like that).

I think Lemmy’s solo album will eventually be released. It appears to be in Jim Voxx’s hands.

Regarding the recent interview with Mikkey I posted: He explains how he single-handedly changed Motorhead from the punkish speedfreak band they were, with a unique blend of rock'n'roll, punk and metal, to a standard metal band with a few rock'n'roll numbers thrown in: "I’d say we went more into rock and metal than the way Motörhead was before." He is absolutely right. There were fewer songs of this unique Motorhead blend, but more pure metal tracks and more pure rock'n'roll numbers. He also explains how their unique sound stemmed from the fact that the other members didn't listen to or follow Philthy, they followed Lemmy. Lemmy was the driver behind the music, just like he was in Hawkwind. Philthy was just jazzing along to what Lemmy was playing and that gave the music a unique flow and feel. In most bands, the drummer drives the music. Mikkey wanted it that way and implemented it in Motorhead. Consequently, the music got more musically correct, but also less unique and more boring, IMHO. By the way, I think Mikkey rules. Motorhead was never metal and never will be. They are, like Lemmy said, just rnr 100 mph. They throw in few metal, blues songs... but mostly is rnr.
What is rnr? Where did you get this definition? From music industry propaganda? There were no any international art and scientific institution who define what rnr is and what ALL COUNTRIES support on this world.
Lemmy disagree with music industry definition what rnr is and what metal is. Me too. And many more people. You like definition what managers and music industry said metal is. They said because of marketing and money making reasons, they dont care about music, only profit.
If you want to hate somebody, hate Lemmy, dont hate other fans who insist that Motorhead is rnr and not metal. They just repeat what Lemmy insisted!!!!! Dont be a hypocrite, you or anybody else. HATE LEMMY if you have a guts. And if you do you are not fan of Motorhead at all. Period.
Billion times Lemmy said something, here on forum I see many good explanation about genre but no... You and other metal fans must be ignorant.
Poor Lemmy. RIP.

I agree with you that Motorhead has always been a r’n’r band. I was just quoting Mikkey who said that they went more into metal and rock after he joined. Lem always said that they had more in common with The Damned than with Judas Priest. Why would I or any other fan hate Lemmy? I love Lemmy and what he has brought to the world in terms of musical enjoyment and attitude.

Oh ok. Misunderstood. There are many people from metal world who say other things than Lemmy and attack thoe who support Lemmy, saw it many times. Good that you are on right side Forget it.
Mikkey can say that in terms that they put some songs, two or three per album, metal, one easy song than or blues etc... But most of them are rnr. Modern rnr, not from 1955 'johnny b good' even those are on albums too, at least one, like: going to brazil, english rose...
If Mikkey thinks their songs most of them are metal, Lemmy would disagree, me too . Lemmy is more important than Mikkey, even I respect them all.

Ok, I got reply from Alan Davey (ex Hawkwind Bassist). He had one of the best albums with Hawkwind 'The Chronicle of the black sword' and 'Live Chronicles'.
However, Phil Campbell and Mikkey were talking about posibility one day that former Motorhead members do tribute shows for Lemmy.
Phil and Robbo can do guitars, Mikkey drumms. Larry is sick, dont know if he can do one song. Lucas is fine, just assume that he can do few songs. For Pete I dont know. But somebody have to do Bass and Vocals. Alan said he could do it!!! His reply:
"that's what Lemmy would want. He told me I'm the only one that's nailed his style 100% but also has my own thing going on too. Hence my credit as Bass Assassin #2 on the Orgasmatron album. You gotta spread to word I reckon but a lot of Motörhead fans already know me"
