Great album but the best? I would take the debut, TNoTB, PoM or Powerslave over this, and on come days SiT as well. That said I do love the album, highlights being The Clairvoyant, Moonchild, Only The Good Die Young.
As for Can I play With Madness, not a favourite of mine. It's up there with Wasted Years as a good sing a long track live but a bit cheesey for me overall.

I had Can I Play With Madness as my alarm clock tone for a year. It's interesting to wake up because Bruce Dickinson is yelling.
I recently listened to a karaoke version of Can I Play With Madness, i.e. sans vocals. It's completely different. There's a descending riff going on during the chorus that usually gets completely drowned by Bruce (this being Bruce) and it's incredibly sweet.

MAdness comesinto its own live, I never rated that album much in 88 but has been a grower, 1 0r 2 tracks aside. I've recently learned to love again No Paryer for the Dying, a great record and the shows with it were special too. 7th son title track worked well the last couple fo years, cos we sure as hell wont see it played again
