Last Saturday (11/5/02) Skyclad did a FREE show to promote their new album of reworked classics (http://motorhead.proboards9.com/index.cgi?board=review&action=display&num=1018217251). Yes indeed, free it was to anyone who ordered tickets from www.skyclad.co.uk. I went with me old chum Dika and we had 2 spare tickets which we couldn't give away to anyone , even in metal bars. Anyway, lots of lager and cider was supped in Newcastle throughout the day and when the the doors opened at about 7.30 - 8.00 we'd both had a load of booze. The 'Clad went through classic tracks like "Penny Dreadful", "Inequality Street", "Sins of Emmision" and "No Deposit No Return" to great jubilation fro the crowd at the Cluny venue. The greatest recepton though, appeared to be reserved for the classic jig, "Polkageist" which really got the crowd jumping. Dika vanished during the interval however after visting the toilet and says he only remembers waking up up on the kitchen floor at 4.30am on sunday mornng. The Skyclad ale was nice too. It looked a bit funy in the glass but was a very tasty drop and deceptivily strong Cheers ;D John (TBC)

What was the second half of the gig like - did they play any 'electric' stuff?
Didn't you buy a CD at the gig as well?
Oh, I've accounted for some of me whereabouts later on: apparently I was on the phone to me 'lass' at about 10:30 whilst staggering around the Toon looking for a taxi foolish enough to accept my fare. She didn't have a clue what I was talking about; at one point she reckons she went to the bog for about 10 minutes and when she returned I was still mumbling on about summit...
Isn't booze and metal the greatest combination since salt and vinegar?
