I can't even think of any worth slagging - they're all shit!
I've got about 400 albums and only 1 of them has female lead vocals - 'Hole', and I only paid £2 for that pile of horseshit...
Bands like Paradise Lost have the odd 'haunting' female vocals backing up, but appart from that wimmin' and metal just don't mix

I'm fairly open minded and don't 'hate' any particular type of music - apart from manufactured bands. You know the type - picked from a conveyor belt by some music industry 'talent' spotter, told how to talk, walk, behave, sleep etc, taught some dance routines and then practice miming to some songs someone else has written and someone else has sung. But to anyone else who plays their own songs on their own instruments, good luck to them! If you you don't like something don't listen to it - and stop wasting my time whining about it!

I see your point Copey, but I'm not saying that I hate women singers, it's just that there aren't any good ones in the realm of rock / metal, for some strange reason.
It was what's known as an 'observation'

I agree with Dika but I'd extend it beyond metal. even in straight rock women are generally shit. Sure there are some good female artists but they pale into insignificance when compared to the blokes. Women don't seem to make very good songwriters for one thing and I can't think of any female musicians worthy of kudos either.

There are so many and some good choices you lot have made. But your forgetting a band that is sadly no longer with us due to censorship... ROCKBITCH This group consisted of lesbians/bi-sexuals who played heavy hard rock while stood around either topless or fully naked. Inbetween and during the Music they performed sex rituals on each other and other sexual acts. To them they were expressing the female sexuality. But as I said, censorship got in the way and they stopped touring. Jeff

One word: bleh I've never been too impressed. Any chick can be a drunken mess and roll around in underwear to get people to pay attention. I was impressed with her ability to clean herself up and turn into a fashion plate, but I'd be even more impressed if she started writing her own songs. .02

You gotta check out The Gits, fronted by the late Mia Zapata. This woman had MASSIVE stage pressence. Unfortunatly she was raped and murdered in '93. There's a clip of them in the movie "Hype". I think thier site is www.thegits.comL7 was another great all female band in the early 90's but became junkies in the late 90's they did a great cover of "Blood Stains" by Agent Orange. My Faverate song by L7 was a tune called "Shove". See if you can download it somewhere. ;D

I remember when L7 singer Donita Sparks dropped her pants during a performance on a TV programme in the early 90s. The show was called The Word and the nation got a view of Moss Cottage
