Released in 2000 I was listening to this today and still find it amazing that certain songs were on this considering its the Best of Motorhead CD 1 is bloody good but then they put emergency in ,which I don't understand- why a girlschool number ? CD 2 could be better if they had have put Motorhead s live version of Motorhead in instead of Hawkwind s version, and then Girlschools version of Bomber !!!! We have the proper version on cd 1 so why bother with this ? I'm sure we can all debate whether this song or that one should have been on but I never understand putting other bands songs/versions on A bit petty perhaps but its been bugging me since 2000,i'm sure its been discussed before but I'm trying to get a discussion going here

I think girlschool's version of bomber is very good, however i completely agree with all your points mate Taking up room that should have been used for more 'head songs......it's not as if there wasnt plenty of quality to pick from !!!

Remember EMI did this with their Best of UFO in 1983, the6 had songs on it by Whitesnake and Wild Horses and Scorpions, cos the UFO members had been in those bands, odd fucking idea. Always nice to hear Robbo on an album though clearly . Girl school still tour , I think, ran into a guy in a pub last year who had an early 80s GS tour shirt on

Taylor was boxing at the time ( same club I went to 30 years ago, but different place-didn't realise at first, only when I spoke to one of the trainers-weird eh ) but I missed it. Only saw it advertised the week after as I was diverted past the venue to drop Taylor off. Wish id not known

Wish id not known They play round here sometimes, pity at present as the Wolves civic and Wulfrun hall are shut for a couple of years for refurb so it’s Brum or Manc for me. Hope they can get their share of gigs back when reopens cos UFO usually play there. Annoyed cos was inquired about Schenker tickets later in year and er at £41 I shall not be going! History repeating itself with Taylor then!

Yeah - I went for a while and then got knocked off my motorbike by some pissed up bloke turning right in front of me -split my lip in half, lost my front teeth and bottom gum so that put paid to boxing. Taylor has always had problems with a crumbling hip - he had to stop football /karate when he was about 10 ish, and this time he was boxing twice a week and football twice a week plus whatever sport he does at school and he fucked it up again. So he had to stop although has started football up again. Think 1 leg is 2" shorter than the other because of his hip. So yes history repeating itself unfortunately

The only positive I can see here is at least it’s a known quantity for him, and hopefully young enough they can treat in some way shape or form. Right, Saturday night is takeaway night, I’m off for a couple of beers while I wait to pick it up. If I talk bollocks on here later, that’ll be why.....!
