Well for possibly the first year since 1983 I don't have a gig to look forward to Off to see A7X with Disturbed ( but wouldn't say im really that bothered) and also Sabaton with Accept ( don't like sabaton myself but my lad loves them so taking him) I guess if Metallica announce a tour then I would be looking forward to that but its looking a bit dull at the moment

May do Bloodstock to see Priest, mone6 permitting. Doing a few punk shows, UK Subs and Damned playing, will go see Shinedown if they play, got 4 Maiden shows this year too. Had a moment of nostalgia recently and went to see Marillion for first time since 1990 and wished I hadn’t bothered, new singer is still awful, he clearly believes he’s as good as their rabid fanbase have convinced him he is, sod all stage presence and a real disappointment, not often I leave early but I did in that case. I actually have a freee weekend when Steelhouse fest is on, not sure if that is worth a trip or not

He was a young hippie though and it was in the late 80's My next door neighbour is taking flying lessons at Sywell and saw Bruce Dickinson there last week ( the same place you met him Tim )

All years blend into one at my age mate ....! I like 80s Marillion, and some of their albums lately have been ok, and Rothery can play guitar, but rarely have I enjoyed a gig less. Sywell is a lovely airfield , FairPlay to him. Wife would like flying lessons and we’re spitting distance from Cosford airfield so will use that. Doing many gigs?

Wow that’s a surprise, so it’s their St Anger album then? Bet they’d still cut it live though. Cant do download, brother and I are out in Germany that weekend to see Maiden. Shame as Never seen Avenged 7x and would like to. VolbeAt intrigue me, guitar player is great, he’s ex Anthrax I think, but the singer is a bit of an acquired taste to my ears

By the way, I did manage t9 g9 see Ritchie Blackmore and his revamped Rainbow a couple of times in last few years, and the6 wee excellent, Romero can sing and cover all the bases with the various vocalists , and a tight (if unspectacular) band. Ritchie shone though, and was clearly enjoying himself. Not sure I’m too fussed by them recording new material, but full respect to the guy , he played his socks off.

Yeah I bet they were good, Their best songs are up there with most bands ,and I agree, don't record any new stuff. A band like that ,people just want to listen to all their old stuff

First gig he played too much Purple, but second time round they redressed that and was full of Rainbow crackers. And Andy Scott’s Sweet opened too, absolutely brilliant, crowd was crap though, how can you sit down during ballroom Blitz...!

Just seen Ricky Warwick is doing an acoustic tour with Damon Johnson (also Black Star Riders) in the autumn, he’s playing Bilston which is close ish to me, Warwick is excellent live, usually does a Motörhead cover or 2 as well as Almighty/BSR/Lizzy and some solo stuff. And for nostalgic reasons the same venue has Brian Downey’s band on too, one of my favourite drummers, has a real swing to his playing

Great band ,think they supported Motorhead in the late 80's ? Enjoy

Ricky is worth a watch if you fancied a trip up to Bilston, not much further than Brum

Tomorrow will check it out Triptykon... Tom Warrior´s Celtic Frost band... excellent, let us know how that goes! I liked Celtic Frost but never saw them . Quiet few weeks then Maiden in June, looking forward to that Because the huge problems with petrol , seems a lot of fans couldn´t reach the place what was a really shame. Around 600 fans checked them... Geez... awesome . Nine songs from Celtic Frost, three from Hellhammer and three from his actual band. For us was a huge surprise to have a lot from CF since they never came to Brazil ... Great night. Warrior´s voice sounds exactly like in the records, like Halford in Judas... and his trade mark... Uh!!! lol... so cool...
