So. I'm still waiting for my copy, but who has it? Personally, while waiting I've been trying to listen to the iTunes previews. It ain't easy. Lemmy is glorious and noble making its last stand, and I think he genuinely sounds good. The fact is, I KNOW. Opinions?

So. I'm still waiting for my copy, but who has it? Personally, while waiting I've been trying to listen to the iTunes previews. It ain't easy. Lemmy is glorious and noble making its last stand, and I think he genuinely sounds good. The fact is, I KNOW. Opinions? A couple of guys on the threads have said they couldn't even bear to watch the DVD. I'm going to buy the box set available from Amoeba records on Friday as I'm on holiday in LA. I'll buy it for the collection. There's already a few clips on You Tube including the official release of Bomber from the show. Mikkey was quoted as saying on the last leg of the tour that Lem picked up on the fact that the tempo on many of the songs had slowed down. He asked him to speed them up again and, from what I've seen, they did increase them a little compared to earlier on in the tour. Lem's vocal delivery was obviously weaker than three years before but in the light of what transpired soon after, he put in a valiant effort. Clearly, it will be painful for many to watch but an important document to remember them by. We should also look forward to the long-awaited release of Lem's solo album which will come but not just yet. Heroes could also see a release 'when the time is right' according to Phil. He told me the back cover of Clean Your Clock makes him tearful when he sees it. You could say it's been an emotional trip.

I love that the first song is Bomber, the one about being invincible. Motörhead is an idea.

Got the box set. Great packaging and a good if emotional bonus feature...however the footage/album is shocking. A valiant effort from the colonel but it won't get played in my house again I don't think. Very sad and should have maybe been left unreleased...plenty of better live albums in the archive which I think would be better...can't wait for the solo album.

Finally got my copy, and gave the CD a spin this afternoon even though I haven't got round to the feature and DVD. I have to say that I was worried that it would shatter the illusion I had of them performing better on this tour than they did when I had previously seen them back in June, but instead it confirmed it. I thought they had picked up the tempo a bit but now I have that fact confirmed. 'Orgasmatron' I thought sounded a little off, maybe the low notes were causing him problems?? And he definitely wasn't slurring the talky bits too badly either. All this said, I haven't watched the DVD yet, but now I am curious and a little more optimistic I think I'll give it a go this weekend. Obviously it can't be considered one of their finest performances ever, but fucking hell! Wasn't it only a couple of weeks later that Lem dropped dead riddled with cancer?! What a way to go out! He did it how he wanted to, and I don't think many people who caught that last tour would feel cheated out of their money - I didn't! If I had a soul there would be a little tear in my eye right now.....

Got it, the box set. The video thing is great and made me laugh, the pin will be worn with pride, the album is hard to listen to. It's good, but really a document more than entertainment. So much love.
