Bit off-topic but I found no better topic for this. I saw Korpiklaani today and they played "Iron Fist" as a tribute to Lemmy. It made me smile. I know for a fact that few of Kopriklaani members are diehard Motörhead fans so it really felt right.

ANY tribute other than AoS is highly welcome in my book; shows they were not just jumping on the bandwagon like so many 2nd and 3rd - tier bands atm.

I'm a man who usually doesn't show his emotion but I gotta say here that Lemmy's memorial service burst me into tears couple of times. As I remember Lemmy has said "A man who cant cry, isn't a man."
First was when Mikkey was talking. There was such a true missing for a lifelong friend. Last was when they put Lemmy's bass feedback one last time against hi's amps. That moment was just so clearing that it was the last time Lemmy's bass is going to be used and like after everyone of hi's shows he'd hit the bass and leaned it against the cabinet's to let it feedback.
Hi's memorial service was absolutely beautfiul. So much love in the room and warmth in the stories.
Lemmy truely was the last true rock 'n' roll pirate but still the was 100% gentleman through his life.
Rock In Peace Lemmy. We will always miss you.

Thanks for that. It's nice to read how much Lemmy meant to all these other "Rock Gods". And i'm glad Eddie explained his absence (not that he needed to I suppose). Maybe Phil will follow suit

The bravewords.com web link is forbidden here in Saudi for some reason. Anyone care to summarise what Eddie said as I can't seem to find it anywhere else. I tried a proxy server too but couldn't view it. It must be well naughty! Thanks to anyone who can be bothered;)

On reading the posts above again, I found it touching what Mikkey said and poignant when he turned to Lem's urn and said he would see him soon. Makes you think that we are here for such a small space of time really. After Bowie's death the other day, I watched the media and some of the fans' reactions and felt sorry for them. However, much as I liked some of Bowie's music and to be honest, hated some of it too, there was none of the personal emotional stuff I felt with the Lem's passing. Liked the cartoon Tegina posted though! It gave me a wry smile.

Found it
Ex – MOTÖRHEAD guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke has posted his thoughts on Lemmy Kilmister‘s funeral and memorial and why he could not be there. Eddie stated via his official Facebook page:
“I have been a bit quiet lately…I was unable to get a visa to go to Lemmy’s funeral. I have past sins, which means it takes longer for me to get a visa and with being Christmas, there wasn’t enough time… I watched it online last night. I thought everyone did very well. Todd did an amazing job as compere. I thought his son, Paul spoke magnificently and Mikkey Dee followed up well. It all reminded me of what a great man Lemmy was and how much he lived for his music and Motorhead and the fans. It was great to see the picture of the old band with Phil in the middle. They were great days and I miss them both. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. It was very sad but the message got across about the great man. Rest In Peace, my old friend.”

Whoops! Regina, sorry. That's what happens when you try to post on a mobile with bloody great big fingers shaking with emotion. Don't you worry about that, I've been called worse :-). You knew Lem personally, didn't you? His passing must have hit you way harder than the average fan.... Right then, here's word-for-word off Eddie's FB page, 9th of January: "I have been a bit quiet lately. I was unable to get a visa to go to Lemmy's funeral. I have past sins, which means it takes longer for me to get a visa and with being Chrismas, there wasn't enough time .... I watched it online last night. I thought everyone did very well. Todd did an amazing job as compere. I thought his son Paul spoke magnificently and Mikkey Dee followed up well.
