Right I know theres a few Rush fans on here ,including Tim (gone but not forgotten).Anyway one of the members (don't know which one as I am not a rush fan) has arthritis and ,according to what was said on the radio, if it gets any worse then it will be time to call it an end.

tendonitis, Pedro, yes . I hadn't heard that but the fact they're playing now is a good sign. That band runs due to Neil, if he won't play, they won't, so we'll all be blessed if we get a final run through our territories by them. My Mrs hates Rush , as I point out, I had them and 'Head and Maiden years before I met herĀ¬!

Im not a fan of Rush but given the AC/DC-lite touring right now and Kiss saying they will live forever as a franchise, it's wonderful to see a band not only stay together as a unit for so long, but to say they will end together if one of their numbers can't carry on.
Respect to that

Well said Lard, that's one of the reasons I like them so much. Saw them same year I first saw Motorhead and, as you say, same 3 guys. they've ahd some dubious haircuts over the years (haven't we all) but always had integrity. I genuinely thought we'd seen the last of them when they did the Rush 30 shows 10 years ago and since them have seen them another 5 times,so they owe me nothing, but one more visit here would be special. Much as the wife might perhaps moan ever so slightly, I shall be away a few nights seeing them as and when they play. One of the few bands I avoid any news on setlists etc, always want to be surprised on the night cos its such a big visual show

Tim, did you ever see the movie I Love You Man with Rush live footage? I loved their covers album, especially their version of Summertime Blues...

Tim, did you ever see the movie I Love You Man with Rush live footage? I loved their covers album, especially their version of Summertime Blues... It's a good movie BECAUSE Rush are in it DR ! and yes Pedro nails it, they used the 2 actors in a little video sketch on a recent tour. Feedback is the covers album, some great tunes on there, their take on Crossroads is great as is The Seeker by the Who. But they then excelled with the "clockwork angels" record, absolutely vibrant . as you can probably tell , I quite like Rush

I like them a lot too. Ironically, the only time I got to see them live was on the Signals tour at Birmingham NEC and I didn't enjoy it at all. Since then, I seem to have gradually picked up most of their albums and DVDs and find them great for chilling out after my students have annoyed me at work! The story of Rush biopic was fascinating whereas the Rush In Rio DVD is the one to turn up and put on sound surround...

Rio is an incredible DVD, South American crowds are wild and bring out the best in bands - euro crowds embarrass me sometimes, you hear Maiden etc saying "oh yeah incredible crowd" but the east Europe and S American mobs are wau more passionate (generalisation I appreciate) Signals was my first tour and loved it. The biopic is nice, very personal, and the extra disc that has footage extra from them having dinner and getting drunk and talking is really special. Even my Mrs enjoyed that film, which is saying something cos she HATES Rush
