(Returning, after a short period of hibernation) never heard of it let alone seen it !!!! epic series, you do need to watch it from the start and be prepared to watch each episode 2 or 3 times. I was lucky enough to go to Snoqualmie Falls in Washiongton a few years ago where they filmed it. D Lynch at his finest, and with a 25 year gap I'm hopeful the new series will not disappoint. Not precisely horror I guess

Me neither. Never saw X-files, but i've heard people talk so much about this and make me curious. I read about Twin Peaks and said X-files was heavily influenced and Prison Break and others. Just finished seeing today, and frankly IMO, the best series I've ever seen along with Tales from the Crypt, which also had a similar production.

The first episode alone will make you fall in love. It's essentially the grandmother of modern series having an ongoing story arc as opposed to the monster-of-the-week format. Please go on a Twin Peaks binge, and then watch the new episodes when they come out. I know I will. Also one might argue that it is actually returning after the exact right period of hibernation.

Not a massive fan of the horror genre myself, but I would pick as my favourites (in no particular order):
Alien - may be a sci fi classic, but it is definitely a horror film. Swap the alien for a masked slasher and the spaceship for a series of tunnels, an abandoned factory, etc.. and it's 75% of every horror film made since. The Omen (original version)- a great story with suspense and shocks built the old fashioned way The Thing (Kurt Russell version)- low budget when compared to today's films but still an absolute classic Halloween - the original slasher anti hero film, and still the best Jaws - again many would see this as not a horror film, but swap the shark for a demon spawned from the mouth of hell, etc.. Was there ever a film where the music was as big a part of the horror?
Honourary mention to a film that isn't really horror, it's a comedy and a bloody good one at that, but Shaun Of The Dead is a classic. The best zombie film ever made IMO.

Well after mentioning The Babadook earlier in this thread, after reading all the reviews ,after hearing that its one of the scariest horror films ever , I got the chance to see it last week. To say I had high hopes for this film was an understatement. Well,i was bitterly disappointed. One of the scariest films ever !!!!! hahahahha I don't think so.If they hadn't come up with this statement it would have been a decent film(just) but seeing as they did,i was expecting a much better film. The kid in it was the highlight-he reminded me of Damien out of The Omen. I think this was done intentionally,as was the part ripping of a scene in The Exorcist. Don't get me wrong I am glad I watched it ,but unlike all good films. I wouldn't bother watching it again.

About babadook, once I started to see it, the story seemed interesting but my internet failed and I was angry and gave up ... so far I have not seen, but I remembered this movie when some guys are commenting here at home. I was anxious thinking that Ash vs Evil Dead would be a new movie but will be a series ... the good thing is that the original Ash will be present, but I think for a series may be tiring. In this sense I can only hope to see the result of the new Conan with Schwarzenergger because Mad Max: Fury Road from what I saw at first does not seem to pay. Now two promising that remember the old Horror B style of making a movie are Insectula! and Sky Sharks. They are independent productions that will enjoy the most of the low budget resources that are trying to get through a crowdfunding to develop the project. But these movies are for those who are 'appreciate' b-movie, I liked these because they seem that is a fan thing for a fan! And for the finish another relevant factor is the rating note on IMDB, usually the best horror movies have the worst grades and this can be confirmed in the review where many people praises.
