I can't contribute, as I don't drink, but you can. Cry havoc.

As for drinks I'm as boring as it gets. Don't know (and like) much about booze other than beer, beer, beer..... and beer. Plus the occasional russian vodka, peppered & lukewarm. Will be a most entertaining thread though, I hope .

Special Brew, McEwan's Best Scotch, Jim Beam, for a nod to the 90s Thunderbird Red, and Brown Ale when it was brewed in Newcastle

I'm not a daily drinker, but more an occasional/party drinker
Always start with some nice cold beer. I prefer Heineken, but also like Hertog Jan, Amstel or Grolsch. When I'm fed up with the beer I go for some drinks like Whiskey, Vodka or Bacardi (all mix with Coca Cola btw) Some brands I like are: JD, Jim Beam, Captain Morgan, Eristoff, Smirnoff, Royalty. Sometimes I drink a Jägermeister (only when it's freezing cold), Apfelkorn (next to my beer), Jenever or Beerenburg. I also like to drink my coffee with a dash of 43 (Cuarenta Y Tres) but NOT in the mornings I always enjoy having some drinks with my friends and listen to some good music.
Cheers .....

Wohohow this topic ... gave me a thirst ... As my nick suggests, I have a certain weakness for drink, but a healthy weakness. I usually only drink on weekends, at concerts and partys, is not a constant thing, but when I do, I do right. lol Here goes: 1-Beer (My favorite are Budweiser and Heineken) 2-Caipirinha (A drink that's made with lemon juice and 'Cachaça') 3-Tekilla (The killa!) 4-Cachaça (A typical drink from my region, made from sugar cane) 5-Whiskey (Rarely, very expensive!) In the days when I was in the university, I used to take a drink called 'PARATUDO '(made from bitter roots). She had a very strong taste and nobody liked, so nobody wanted and I was with the whole bottle for me. lol Salute!

1. Beer, beer, beer 2. Fernet with Coca-Cola (it's great for the heavies 35° summer we have here) 3. Wine (red and white!) 4. Whisky (but as Borntobooze said, it's expensive here too) 5. Beer lol
Caipirinha is great indeed. I don't know why I don't drink it more often

For the record: Heineken isn't beer. Orval is beer, Westmalle is beer, Tripel Karmeliet is beer.
I have a soft spot for grappa, and I love a fine whisky, but I usually stick with beer or wine. Since you're asking for a top five:
1. grappa 2. whisky (I don't know much about it, but I've tried and loved Oban, Bowmore, Lagavulin) 3. Chianti classico 4. Orval 4. Tripel Karmeliet 4. Westmalle Tripel 4. Omer 4. Delirium Tremens and 5. gin-tonic

1) Beer
After that all dricks from wine to moonshine as long it gets you drunk. Don`t drink alcohol cause of the taste just cause of the effect. Now days not so often, though.
Imagine if some liquid taste like vodka or whiskey and you have to drink it just for your thirst, no effect involved. Then i rather drink limonade BUT if ya know the effect of that drink i sure could drink it dispite how it taste. AND after few drinks it WILL taste good.

Which reminds me of a horrendous brew back in the day (VERY much back, actually) when I still was a regular festivalgoer and those 2 or 3 days required survival with as little sleep and as much intoxication as possible - killing two birds with one stone, we would brew our morning coffee with vodka instead of water (appropriately enough called "The Black Death of Leningrad) and this fuelled-up but totally harmless tasting mixture woulr never fail to have us rise from the dead like Lazarus and get us through another day of nonstop music and partying. Mind you, not to be recommended for the weak-hearted, though .... and I've grown too old and too wise for that shit now anyway, lol.

Lately I have mostly been drinking: 1 Caipirinha (prepared so well by the delightful bar staff at Riu Garopa in Sal, Cape Verde) 2 Beer Lao - try the gold top version in Vientianne 3 Anchor - a cheeky little beer from Cambodia 4 Kentucky Bourbon - only $8 a litre in Phnom Penh and very smooth 5 Mateus Rose - a Portuguese classic 6 Bloody Mary - plenty of Worcester Sauce, a dash of Tabasco and a twist of lime. Add celery and chorizo for a whole meal but keep it out of the glass.
Drinks I tried but would never approach EVER again... 1 Special Brew with Smirnoff chaser (thanks Uncle Rotter) 2 Thunderbird - red and blue label, might as well be codeine linctus... 3 Anise- cloudy mindfuck 4 Birra Moretti - Italians make great wine but beer? Not so much. 5 Speckled Hen - should come with laxative warning 6 Sliverwitz - sorry about the spelling to our Czech friends but no thanks for the hallucinations...
