Of course Mark, you are right about the song "Night Of Long Knives" ..... That's an absolute great song too !!! I also like the songs "Game Over" and "Take Me Through The Fire" a lot. There are a lot of excellent riffs/solos/drum parts in other songs from this album too, but sometimes I think they want to put too much of it in one song. It's a good album, no doubt, and I understand that some say it's a masterpiece, but sometimes when I listen to it (using headphones ) I think: well, maybe less is more ..... Yeah,i think if there is any criticism then that is it.Personally I love it(but you knew that already;) ) but a few fans on their own forum also raised the same point as you. Time will tell. Everyone knows what its like when they get one of their favourite bands new albums which they like- it suddenly becomes one of their best albums ever!!! We will see in 6 months time whether it still holds the same appeal.

Machine Head tomorrow night What, again? You're on a monthly subscription now? No honestly, have another great time, (can't go much wrong, eh? ) I have been looking at their setlists on this tour. I think I am right in saying that they have changed the setlist most/every night and have played every song off the latest album apart from the 2 spoken word/slow songs - imaginal cells and damage inside. I am hoping/praying they play Night of long knives. They played this the second night at The Roundhouse(the night after I went) when they ended up playing 20 songs instead of 18 including their cover of Fucking Hostile and a 15 minute medley of Pantera songs as a tribute to Dimebag, playing for over 2 and a half hours instead of 2 and a quarter hours. Its a shame Motorhead haven't been a bit more like this eh. I don't expect the length of the setlist to be the same(especially now) but they could ,and should have played a LOT more songs of their last 4/5 albums . There is just no exscuses for that im afraid . Lazy and stubborn are the 2 words I would describe them over the years.

Hey Regina - I got my wish -they played night of long knives, as well as another 5 tracks off the new album. -killers and kings ,now we die, sail into the black, game over and beneath the silt. They also changed 2 other songs in the set to play from this day and old. Another brilliant night . Hopefully they wont take 3 years to come back on tour again (my lad was 9 when he last saw them indoors ,so he probably enjoyed it even more last night). Supposedly Phil Demmel told someone they were coming back this time next year so hopefully that's not bullshit. How good a year will that be-new Motorhead album,40 th anniversary and Machine Head back. That's all I need to keep me happy

Tim, I saw you mentioning an IRON MAIDEN tour this year in one of the threads - do you by any chance know of any details already?

Tim, I saw you mentioning an IRON MAIDEN tour this year in one of the threads - do you by any chance know of any details already? ello Regina, sadly no dates but they put a xmas message on their site with a new Eddie artwork which said "on tour 15" in it, plus showed Eddie coming out of a recording studio, so I'll hazard a guess at the back end of the year for a new album and tour, rather than festivals
I hope to see Saxon in Feb in Wolves

Aaaah thanks for the hint, Tim; I googled the card (what are those shady figures on the roof up to?) - you're talking about the letter-salad on the signpost in the left corner, aren't you? Well, let's hope it doesn't say "NO tour 15" instead of "ON tour 15" then (öhhm, just kidding) and possible tour dates are not gonna collide with the Motörhead ones. Haven't seen them since 2008 -shame on me- see, it's about bloody time .... Attachments:

It would be trolling of the highest caliber if it actually said "no tour". A true act of cruelty, but so clever.

Haha, indeed! So what about you, Riccardo - any "musical" plans this year? (assuming Köln + surroundings is good gig territory .... )

It is good territory indeed, but I made no plans yet. I've been super busy - which also reflected in me being absent for a couple of weeks from here. I must check what's going on.
