I hope there's a best buy near you. According to a recent billboard article, Chinese Democracy will in fact be released on November 23rd, but it's a Best Buy exclusive. I don't know if this is the case outside of North America, but there you have it. www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003872663There is not a best buy within my remote area. I am sick of these fucking exclusive releases. Seriously, does this merit pirating? I think it does.

Uh, iTunes anyone?
I think this one will sell like crazy. It will ALSO be pirated like crazy. Sheer, pure curiosity, more than hope or excitement, being the main reason.

I do have a leaked version of 'Catcher in the Rye'. Its a demo version I think and has Brian May playing on it. When I played it on my radio show at the time, me and my co-presenter said 'its only best point is Brian May, and to be brutally honest, the song sounds like November Rain Part 2'. ;D

I feel a sudden need to play The Unforgiven III... tee hee ;D
But really, I am curious.
And really, I honestly wonder if we'll ever see an Unforgiven IV (I for one would like too).
Back on Chinese Democracy: I still think the title sucks.
;D

My bitterness has subsided somewhat. I will probably just amazon it. I refuse to pay for mp3s.... There's so much more to an album when you get the packaging and nifty lyric booklets, etc. I'm not even a big G'n'R fan, but after hearing about it for 10 years, it's pretty well impossible to resist.

It's a silly title, but Axl's a silly man. This is the album that has ridiculed itself years before it's release, so I'm feeling rather positive about the awful name.

I know, an album is so much more... but iTunes won my soul. I guess it's just the insta-gratification thing. My usual routine: just iTune the bands I'm not technically a fan of; those I'm a fan of, I iTune as soon as the album's out... and then I buy the physical copy. Happened with Along Came a Spider AND Motorizer.
Help me.
;D

Aye, silly names are okay, to a degree. Humour is a good thing indeed... but I really feel like Chinese Democracy is bad humour. The Spaghetti Indicent, that sounds like nonsensical humour. Chinese Democracy sounds like semi-political populist-grade suburban humour. Sounds like... Chevy Chase.

I was really confused as to why such a hyped up album would have exclusive distribution. But I think I know why, after pondering for a few moments. If I recall correctly, the album has been done for a while, yet has been sitting in limbo for ages. I don't know what the cost of the album totals, but I am guessing, with music sales as they are, no label saw the opportunity as a profitable one. Indeed, how many millions have been sunk into this? How could sales possibly surpass such a cost?
Brilliant move on Best Buy's parts: Cut a deal with the label, pay for x percent of production costs, and make up for it by being the sole retail distributor. HUGE opportunity. This presumably makes it affordable for the label, and guaranteeing enough sales to justify the investment on Best Buy's part. It's a wonder no one thought of it sooner.

Well im listening to this track...and to be honest it aint lighting my fuse. There is one comment on that page that makes me think the person has no fucking clue..here is the comment:
Wow slash made a very huge mistake........ Leaving the band was a terrible idea....
The guitarist on that track could be anyone....they had so many guitarists for that album. And if that bloke read Slash's autobiog he will know the reason why Slash left and it was not a terrible idea.
