MOTORHEAD's LEMMY Offers Update On Solo Album - Nov. 21, 2004 In a recent interview with Metal Maniacs magazine, MOTORHEAD frontman Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister offered the following update on his upcoming solo album: "I got seven tracks done already. I've got two with SKEW SISKIN [reportedly titled 'Stand Upon The Mountain' and 'Don't Matter To Me' — Ed.], which are fucking great! And I've got two with the REVEREND HORTON HEAT, some good psycho-metal-billy! I've got a track from Dave Grohl [PROBOT, FOO FIGHTERS, ex-NIRVANA] that I'm still sorting out and two tracks from THE DAMNED [including a cover of THE DAMNED's 'Neat Neat Neat']. That's with Dave and The Captain! Some good stuff. It should be out sometime next year if the lawyers can all get their heads together."
As previously reported, guitarist Jim Voxx of SKEW SISKIN, who own Berlin's Monongo studios, is producing/recording and mixing two of the songs for the project, and word is that he might mix the entire CD. A full horn section was recorded, a saxophone player, a blues piano player and a lot more.

During last night's (Nov. 27) MOTÖRHEAD show at the legendary Hammersmith Apollo in London, ex-guitarist Wurzel joined the band for a live rendition of the set closer "Overkill".
Wurzel was a member of MOTÖRHEAD from 1984's "No Remorse" LP to 1995's "Sacrifice".

MOTÖRHEAD's CAMPBELL Rocks with MINARIK INFERNO GUITAR - Guitarist Phil Campbell of the legendary U.K. band MOTÖRHEAD recently became a believer in Minarik Guitars after FPE agents introduced him to these one-of-a-kind instruments. Campbell and his MOTÖRHEAD bandmates are currently in the midst of a world tour. Phil's guitar chops, combined with the tonality of the Minarik Inferno, are blowing away audiences in both the U.K. and the USA. "We are proud to have Phil playing our guitars," states Mark Minarik. "MOTÖRHEAD and the Inferno are a perfect match. Both are intense, in your face, and built to last!" Coincidentally, MOTÖRHEAD's latest CD release on Metal-Is Records shares the same name as the guitar Phil is playing — "Inferno". It's the first album of new, skin-peeling material from vocalist/bassist Lemmy, guitarist Philip Campbell and drummer Mikkey Dee since 2002's "Hammered" and it's the first MOTÖRHEAD release since last year's critically acclaimed, five-disc, career-spanning box set "Stone Deaf Forever". MOTÖRHEAD, SEPULTURA & MELDRUM - Live Rockefeller Music Hall December 14, 2004 = by: ODD INGE RAND @ Metalexpressradio.com They are way past their 25th anniversary now, and Lemmy www.metalexpressradio.com/showpictures.asp?id=688 is approaching 60 fast, next Christmas Eve to be exact. Nevertheless, the mighty Motörhead-machine can be found where it belongs - on the road. Their new album Inferno doesn’t leave any marks in the history of rock, but you always know what you’re gonna get when you pick up a Motörhead album. To a certain degree, the same goes by attending a Motörhead concert. And even though the setlist for this tour is slightly different from previous years, there is always the trademark of incredible loud rock ’n' roll that grabs you by the balls and stays there through 90 minutes and 20 songs. 10 minutes past schedule, Lemmy and his well-known Rickenbacker-bass entered the stage, followed by his fellow axeman for 20 years, Phil Campbell, and Swedish superdrummer Mikkey Dee. “We are Motörhead, we play rock ’n' roll” he snarled, and then kicked the living shit out of the front rows with the great openers of “Dr. Rock,” “Stay Clean,” and “Shoot You In The Back.” Even at this time you had the feeling that some old forgotten gems had found their way back to a Motörhead show, and the set-opener “Dr. Rock” from Orgasmatron was one already. Later on, Lemmy Kilmister brought out his Christmas presents by surprising the crowd with re-visiting Another Perfect Day with crowd pleasers “I Got Mine,” and the standout “Dancing On Your Grave.” To please the record company, or even themselves, they put in a couple of songs from Inferno, and the introduction to “Killers” sounded something like this: “This is a new song, and you might even like this one…!” No worries at all, “Killers” and “In The Name Of The Tragedy” was worthy of a spot on the set list. “R.A.M.O.N.E.S.” was back in the repertoire, simply because, quoting Lemmy: “This was supposed to be out by now … then another of these fuckers died on me!!” But the last man standing must be Lemmy Kilmister himself. You might even wonder if this character goes by the name of human anymore, because only God knows what’s floating around in his veins. However, he hasn’t changed one bit and he simply introduced “Sacrifice” by warning the crowd with “This is our fastest song; don’t dance to this, you’ll break your fucking legs!!” But business as usual, after stunning versions of “Killed By Death,” “Ace Of Spades,” and “Overkill,” it was over for Motörhead, but they left a few more surprises behind them than on previous visits, maybe “Whorehouse Blues” with a bass-less Lemmy on vocals and harmonica accompanied by two acoustic guitars on stage as the biggest. Now, that hasn’t happened on a Motörhead show before this tour… Click here www.metalexpressradio.com/pictures2.asp?grp=50 to see the Metal Express pictures from the show. ;D
