Ok I'm trying to make a list of all motorhead recordings and I have some problems with rarities. See if you can answer any of these questions:
1.Dirty Love (Full Version) (from "Tear Ya Down - The Rarities" compilation). Is this the same version with any of the alternate takes on the second CD of the 2005 Ace Of Spades rerelease?
2.Ace Of Spades (Rare Version) (from "Tear Ya Down - The Rarities" compilation). Is this the same version with the alternate take on the second CD of the 2005 Ace Of Spades rerelease?
3.Godzilla Akimbo, Bastard, Treat Me Nice, You Ain't Gonna Live Forever. When were these songs recorded? For what release? Are any of them covers?
4. Is Fun On The Farm different from "Back at the funny farm" and if yes, in what way?

1 & 2. I can't really answer regarding the songs Dirty love and Spades rare version, but my guess is that it's the same. These songs are listed that way on the album called Dirty Love and all other records those recordings are used theay have those names.
3. Godzilla Akimbo & Bastard are two songs taken from the already mentioned Dirty love and are two songs that ended up to be... Nothing! They were recorded during the recordings sessions for 'Spades. Treat me nice and You ain't gonna live forever was released on a CD called "Stone dead forever", wich also has a version on Stone deaf forever with Eddie on vocals btw, I think that they were recorded about the time for recording of the Bomber album. None of them are covers though.
4. Yes they are diffrent. They are diffrent in the way that the onyl thing in common is the use of funny farm in the title.
Final: Don't forget, the MadMax bootleg was recorded 1982 in Limburghalle, Genk so you know that when you enter the notes for Nadine.

thanks for the tips! Very helpful info. Two more questions:
what combo is motordam? Does "over the top" by them count as a motorhead song?
The "Dirty Love (Full Version) is 3:51 long. The "Ace Of Spades (Rare Version)" is 3:02 long. Does that help?

a version on Stone deaf forever with Eddie on vocals btw This must be the alternate version on the 2005 2cd rerelease, right? Any other rarities that have found their way on obscure compilations? Cheers!

I can't really tell if they are the same as the 2005 releases* since I don't have them, but I find it very unlikely that two diffrent alternative versions with the same name exists, and one of them hasn't been released until now. Motördam is The Damned and Motörhead, I don't remeber the exact line-up. Black Leather Jacket is a bit of a strange song. It's often credited as Lemmy & The Upsetters, but it's not the same Upsetters as it is on BLue suede shoes & Paradise. This is leading us the teh question tha tyou got hanging in the air, is Over the top with Motörhedam a Motörhead song? In my opinion: No! It clearly says Motördam, not Motörhead! In my book Motörhead songs are played by Motörhead, not MotörheadGirlschool, Motördam, Lemmy & The Upsetters with Mick Green or just Lemmy. They are just Motörhead related as far as I think, however, they should of course be mentioned and collected. You might also want to think about "Let it rock" credited as Motörhead, but it's actually Lemmy & Phil Campbell playing with Lettermans band. Motörhead song or not? Tough choice... Any other rarities? Hump on your back, Hell on earth and plenty of others. I don't know what you've got on your list so...
*I haven't bought them yet 'cos they are cash-in products with nothing new (for me), and since I already have 7 diffrent spades albums I don't need the 8:th right now unless it's something special, and the new releases ain't special for me. These days I can't spend €100 on Motörhead records each month (like I did a year ago) so I have to spend the money wiser and therefore I buy more expensive stuff that's harder to get, but not so many things.

About Black leather Jacket, when you say credited do you mean composition wise or recording wise? How come it's on the motorhead box set if it's a Lemmy project?
Also, what sessions does the alternate studio version of Capricorn that appears in the 1996 rerelease of "No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith" belong to? It sure doesn't sound like a live track like I've seen it credited on some sites

ok, here's another one that popped up. Since the "Motorhead" (1977) album doesn't feature "Leaving Here", is it safe to guess that the 1977 single's version of "Leaving Here" (which should feature the classic line-up since it's picture is on the single's cover) is a different version from the one on "On Parole" (which is recorded from the 1st line-up)?

It sure is. I mean most of the stuff you asre asking about here Gor is actually listed in the Illustrated collectors guide. Two answers this time, I ain't got time for more right now... Nadine is a cover, of course. It was recorded by Chuck Berry originally, it's a rock n roll classic... Silver Machine is taken from a bootleg recording, think it was in Switzerland or something...
Just to make it more fun: Honky tonk women from Daily Sweden...
