With this album it all started for me. When I heard Overkill for the first time I was hooked immediately. Went to the store with my older brother and bought the album, I must have been 15/16 years old or so ..... time flies. MHB2320....... that's EXACTLY what happened with me! I have just turned 50 this year, so we must have been a similar age when rushing down to HMV to buy this! I was lucky to see the OverKill tour in Bradford at the same time, and had no idea such a thing could happen in the world! At 16 years old, I was getting trains all round the country to see Motorhead anywhere they played.... and slept in so many doorways, bus stations etc... these days, it just wouldn't be allowed! I must have driven my parents mad, I will ask them!

I've gone off Overkill. I think it's because the half a dozen classics on there are so familiar and I've gotten bored with them and the likes of Tear Ya Down and Limb from limb are pretty much filler.
I'm not sure I could even rate it accurately anymore. There's no doubt that songs like Metropolis and Capricorn are classic tunes but I tend to skip them nowadays. 5 star songs get skipped.

Agree 100% about Capricorn, Metropolis Also is a great song. Prefer Capricorn. I wish I could have heard this classic album at the time it was released, can't imagine the thrill. Recently purchased the 180 gram LP, gorgeous!

still love Overkill-definitely in my top 5 motorhead albums.Superb album, and I think Limb from Limb and Tear ya down are 2 of the best tracks on it!!! Everyones different eh. Never did the sleeping in stations but from the age of 15 was regularly going down to London on the train to see bands.luckily the last trains to Bedford always left well after the gig finished

I live more or less on the countryside up north of The Netherlands when it comes to good metal concerts. Had to travel (by train) to see "Big" bands cos the never came to our area. We also "slept" on train stations or doorways or we didn't slept at all and went from pub to pub till the next train cos we never could go back the same night while there was no train going anymore to this little place were I live.
Still have some pictures of those days:
Playing some football while waiting on the first train to come. As you can see in the picture it's almost 7 in the morning .....
Think it was in Tilburg (Agent Steel and Manowar, but not on the same night btw)
Ah ..... those were the days, haha ......

That's me

Really cool pictures... If ever I had this problem, it was only once in life... with no bus or train to go back home...
