I'm very happy with this one. Motorhead has certainly decided on a musical playing style that appears will be theirs until it's all over. And that style just seems to be getting harder with every album. I look at this disc as being sort of a cross between "Sacrifice" and "Overnight Sensation," with Lemmy's lyrics steering more into generalizations about how PO'd and disappointed he is with society rather than addressing the specifics he constantly mentions on "Overnight." Unlike Dunk, I find myself skipping around a bit to select tracks on this one: Killers (ah, the sweet mid-'90's 'Head groove) Suicide (somewhat uplifting song considering the title) Life's a Bitch In the Year of the Wolf (very unique 'Head song) Smiling Like a Killer (top-notch Lemmy lyrics) Whorehouse Blues (we all knew he was a deep bluesman at heart)
I think this is disc is 95 percent of the best Motorhead can do in the studio at this point in time. And they just seem to be getting better with age. Unbelievable - as usual! This is their best since "Overnight Sensation," for certain. CROW

I voted 5. Couldn't give it 6 due mainly to the inclusion of Fight which I think is a truly terrible song.

I haven't rated it yet. Bought it just today, and listening to it for the third time now. The first listen just blew me away. The second time was a tornado passing by. Now it's the third time, and it still feels like a hurricane. At first I didn't like 'Fight' too much either, but it just fits in the rest of the album. I don't know anything about the drums, but I'm mighty impressed with the drums on 'In the Black'.
And, if you'll excuse me now: I haven't watched the bonus dvd yet.

ok, listened to it again and again now. I must say this may just be the best Motörhead I heard I so far (shame on me, but I haven't heard all albums yet), so I've given it the maximum of points.

This album is stuck in my stereo and for some reason it won't come out. To me there is not one duff track on this album, some of you say "Fight" is a duff track but for me halfway through the song I was punching the air with my fist along to the shouts of "fight...fight" ;D I got so many favourites on this album but one I keep playing no matter what and that is "Whorehouse Blues" only cause Lemmy can sure play a mean mouth harp. Also I feel "Whorehouse Blues" is this albums answer to "We Are Motorhead". I wish I could headbang to this album, but due to sleep problems my neck is quite sore.

I had a nice surprise today...while in the car listening to Inferno, my Father who is 58 said he thought Inferno was one of the best albums Motorhead done in years. ;D I've trained him well.

I hav now decided tha tI really like this little record. I have decided that I'd rate it 5 of 6. Not top notch, but bloody close. Loses to Bastards and Overnight sensation.

Couldn't give it 5 cos Fight does nothing for me.
Surprised to see In The Black not getting much of a look in. That was the track that stood out when I first heard the album. I liked what they did with the vocals in the chorus.
Must be just me, eh?!
