Also posted my report on the official board...
Yes my dear friends, got home in one piece from Motörhead's performance @ Arrow Rock Festival!
Motörhead were on @ 7.15, I wuz at the festival site @ 5.30. First I checked the merchandise stand, if there were any new shirts AND YES THERE WERE! Besides the standard Motörhead England shirt, there was the Stone Deaf Forever shirt, which was also being sold at the 2003 tour but with the new 2004 summer festival dates. The new shirt was not a shirt with the new Inferno cover art like I expected, but it had the RockNRoll cover instead, with the festival dates on the back. RockNRoll is one of my favourite album covers, so I jumped ten miles in the air (not literary of course) when I saw it! Prices had gone down, compared to 2003> shirts were 28 euros, 2 euros cheaper than last year. Also new was a black Motörhead girly, with only Motörhead written in red> 30 euros..
Paul Rodgers played before Motörhead came on and he & his band were quite good, so it was a pleasant wait when he played.
It became less pleasant after he finished his set. Although I was quite happy to stand right up front against the barriers, it rained goddamn cats 'n dogs! Like I said before, Motörhead were on @ 7.15..Lemmy: "Sorry about the weather, hope you don't get a cold"...
The lads are in great form and played an excellent set, although there were no changes in the setlist. Setlist was:
We Are Motorhead
No Class
Shoot You In The Back
Civil War
God Save The Queen
Metropolis
Dr Rock
R.A.M.O.N.E.S
Over The Top
Sacrifice
Going To Brazil
Killed By Death
Ace Of Spades
Overkill
The crowd went bananas and a nice pit was formed in front. The weather kept getting better and better and the sun shined @ the end of the gig Lemmy: "I even brought the sun out! "
He seemed quite pleased with the crowd, he said "the crowd was really excellent, and I don't say that every night!" and "Every time we play a festival in Holland, it turns out that they were the loudest of the tour"...
Phil and Lemmy were very generous with throwing picks in the crowd, one of Phil's picks fell in front of me, before the barrier. I couldn't reach it, but pointed to it and then a very friendly security chap gave it to me! Lemmy threw a bunch of picks in the crowd in one throw, never seen him do that before!
Inferno was mentioned just once, Phil and Lemmy spoke briefly about it, "that it was coming out next week" and that "we like it"
After Motörhead finished their set, I made my way to the exit area, cuz there isn't much use in seeing other bands AFTER the mighty Motörhead! (and certainly not those horrible Scorpions)
Hope you liked me report, I'm still daydreaming about yesterday, cuz it was really, really, REALLY great!
Forgot to mention that there were two female strippers who came on during Killed By Death, took off their top and threw it their tops in the crowd and flashed their tits and walked off the stage...They wanted to come on another time after the song (think that they liked the attention they got a bit too much) , but got a bollocking from Lem: "I'm singing here!"
