Don't see much talk of this album here, I think that this is one of Motorheads true classics. Every track is very good. Remember when I was a kid and saw that album-cover and thought "Damn, they look bad" I wanted to bee that cool too ;D "The Chase Is Better Than The Catch" is my favorite.

I agree this is one of the best ones they ever did but the title track is over played IMO everybody identifies the band by this song cause it's the most popular i ain't hacking it but i wish more people would expand their minds and see that theres more head tunes out there that blow this one away.

Ace of spades is their most overrated album ever! I mean it's a bloody good album, but it's not that extremely good I think. Bastards is just as good. Title track is good, but I would miss Orgasmatron more live I tell you. I must say that ,my favourite from 'Spades is The hammer, fast enough to keep you awake on late nights.

Shoot You in the Back, LIve to Win, and The Chase is Better than the Catch are my favorites from this. But every tracks a keeper. We are the Road Crew was the best homage to 'the boys what make the show go' ever, in part, IMO, because Lemmy actually was a 'loader'...for Jimi Hendrix, no less. The version on No Sleep 'til Hammersmith was a bit better for me, because of G.R.'s scream...the battle call for beleaguered roadies worldwide. [glow=purple,2,300]WUUARRRRRRGGHHHHHHH!!![/glow]

As this was my 1st MH album it occupies a tender spot,
There have certainly been better albums, and certainly better songs, but nothing else will remind me of being 11 and very excited about MH for the first time.
I do get fed up with the thick bastards who have only ever heard AOS (single) thinking they are clever by quoting it at me when they discover the MH affinity.

It's a pretty good album, really. Not brilliant, but very good indeed. I was completly bowled over by (We Are) The Roadcrew. I think it's fantastic. Overall, I'd give it about 3¾ or 4. The best tracks are Shoot You In The Back, (We Are) The Roadcrew, Bite the Bullet and, of course, Ace of Spades itself.

Well, now my karma, I mean my chi, I mean my inner self feels ready to talk about this album. Ace of Spades - the song - is the top notch of the record, which is really awesome. Good point about this album is that you can listen to it as a whole. It's like an overgrown song, and that symphony-like quality is a thing I appreciate a lot. Other huge moments: Shoot you in the back, (We are) the Road Crew. 4 out of 5.
;D

Ace Of Spades was a great album, but they've done better. Track-wise, Ace Of Spades isn't even nearly one of my faves.

Same here. It probably wouldn't even get in my top 100 Motorsongs.

That may be right, but to talk again about a 'concept album' by MH: If they ever did one - it is Ace Of Spades, in my opinion!

Not my favourite, but i do love it as this was the MH benchmark and their biggest commercial success. To be honest i don't like much of the output (there are a couple of exceptions!!)after 1916 - its all listenable but the magic is not there for me. One AoS, the b-side DIRTY LOVE is an absolute classic. BTW, when i started seeing them in the late 80's/early 90's they would only play AoS and leave Bomber and Overkill out of the encores!!!
