Picked this up today. New album from old Orange County punk rockers, Social Distortion. This is essentially a rock and roll album with some punk and country influences. A very interesting mix, which anyone familiar with Social D will soon recognize. An interesting note for fellow Motörhead fans is that SL & RnR was produced and mixed by Cameron Webb, who recently produced Motörhead's "Inferno". And you can hear the similarity in the production. But, back to the music. As before mentionned, it is essentially a rock and roll album. There are a few punk numbers, like the opener "Reach for the Sky" and "Don't Take me for Granted". But, the album also contains heavier, slower tunes, like the catchy "Highway 101", and the country tinged "Winners and Losers". Overall, the album is somewhat melodic, with very catchy choruses. The production is great. There is a nice heavy guitar sound on numbers like "Nickels and Dimes". The best songs are "Don't Take me for Granted", "Nickels and Dimes" and "I wasn't born to follow". Overall, it is a very good album. 4.5/5 from me.

Absolutely stunning album, possibly one of my top 30 albums ever, without a question my favourite SD album to date.
It's hard, it's fast, it's melodic and I never realise I've listened to all of it until it's over.
Matt rates it as a strong 4.8 out of 5.

I haven't listened to this in... probably a month or so. I should change that soon. This is a marvelous album that got me through a very difficult time.
Social D is recording a new album right now, in fact. And they have a greatest hits coming out later this month. Unfortunately, the track selection doesn't seem complete, but there's a new song on it called "Far Behind". I've heard it on the radio. It's excellent.
