Desperado will probably hate me for this but this album is a trip. I haven't Babelfished all the lyrics yet but things like Sonne or Ich Will are some legend matter. I laughed like and idiot when I checked Sonne's lyrics and actually found out that it's a oh so sweet love song. Not the most classic of metal but a flawless one with a number of personal future evergreens and a great booklet. Hooray for Germany. Anyone else loves this album?
[glow=red,2,300]5 out of 5 in the menacing post-techno metal category ;D[/glow]

I haven't heard it yet, but Rammstein always reminds me of that gig I saw. It was on Pukkelpop (can't remember the year, but it's a while ago, right after their breakthrough), and they opened the festival. Rammstein (with their fire-show) at 10 in the morning is not a good idea. No one's awake yet, the sun is out - too much light too much light - the sound wasn't ok yet. No response from the audience, but that wasn't really their fault, the guy who set them as opener should have known better. Anyway, I never really became a fan, although I do like Sonne and Mutter. So maybe I'll check out the album.

I guess they're the kind of band you really like or you really loathe. It's down to very personal taste I think.

Went to Pukkelpop on that day as well, remembering that Dog Eat Dog were good, Marilyn Manson was a joke, Bush was boring and Metallica played great... Back to the topic> Rammstein are waaaay overrated!

Yep, that was the year. I was a bit disappointed about the Metallica concert then. I think the Vans Warped Tour was there then too. Lagwagon, Millencolin, Pennywise, Satanic Surfers. But I'm not sure anymore. I've seen these bands on Pukkelpop, but which band when is lost in a blur.

One of the best metal albums of the last ten years. 5/5!!!!!!!!! I love nearly all the tracks, but my favourites are Spieluhr and Adios.
They will be touring Spain in November. I MUST see them. ;D
Have you listened to their latests singles, Riccardo? Mein Teil and Amerika seem to be great songs.

Mutter is a good one, but I think that Sehnsucht is better. Herzeleid ain't too bad either. Some songs are absolutely marvellous. I like the tour edition so you can hear them live on record as well. I have read translations to all their lyrics, and I must say that the songs were better before I read them...
"Heirate mich" is a good one, the poor fellow loves her so much that he digs her up, but she falls apart in his arms, so she escapes him a second time, poor fellow... I like the song they did for Harley Davidson in Russia, it's called Schtiel (fuck the spelling and coversion between alphabets here). A cover of Arial (think that was thier name). Mighty good one too!
Check out their version of "The model" (Kraftwerk cover) they call it "das Modell" bloody good. And the machine guns in "Ein bisschen Frieden" is jolly good too.
Back to topic. Mutter is a bloody good album. Get it if you like Industry music. "Hoppe hoppe reiter, mein herz schlegt nicht mehr weiter"

RR - don't BabelFish the lyrics. you'll lose a lot in translation. Instead, use herzeleid.com/ - they translate for context too. Or learn German. Mutter's a top notch album, faster and harder than the prior releases, but I can't help but feel that the song writing quality isn't as high as Sensucht. Where are the Engels, the Bestrafe Michs, the Sensuchts... A few fillers I think, but overall very very good. [glow=red,2,300]4.5-and-a-bit out of 5[/glow]
