This album is amazing. Worth the money for Orgone Accumulator alone.
Lemmy is on fine form too. Top notch space rock.

Heard it a few times, and it's good stuff. My Dad is a fan, and my best mate is a huge fan. I am not a huge fan myself, the only thing of theirs I have is the "Chronicles of the Black Sword" DVD - I love "Needle Gun" on that one.

Early rock/metal/experimental pioneering is good. pity I never heard Hawkwind, but I feel like I've gotta mend now...

this is the Lemmie I love. Went to see the band when I was still wearing navy blue knickers and wow! they were great.
It was during the time of I've Got a Silver Machine which I thought was too commercial and total pants.
My peers were very disappointed with them apart from the male peers who didn't stop watching the nude (yes totally starkers lads!) female dancer with them.
Peers probably enjoy Lemmie more now than during his psychedelic period, but Hawkwind (space age/space cadet) is more my baggage.
I am the master of the universe is one of my favourites; without Sam bloody Fox.
I guess that makes me the oldest one here. Where's my zimmerframe?

And Deadmanshand, do you really think he'll want to come back to this shitehole?
The guy's obviously learn a hard lesson here the last time round, so even if he did return do you think he'll let on to who he is?
Somehow, I guess we'll never know.

I haven't heard that one yet, but I recently got 'The Entire and Infinite Universe of Hawkwind' (the box says 3cds, but in fact there are 4 ). Poor sound quality from time to time, but some good stuff on it. One of the cds is 'Space Ritual Vol. 2'. Good. Very good. So good I feel morally compelled to get 'Space Ritual'.

I'd say Lemmy's bass playing is a lot more imaginative in the Hawkwind era than it is now with the exception of the occasional solo he still throws in.

I think Hawkwind days were very good experimental days, and yeah I think he was at his best especially live when he was allowed to go off and play whatever he felt would fit best.
I watched him play with Hawkwind at Brixton Academy. He was good but by then he had set the standard so that every bass guitarist who followed him sounded just like him.
Just no one mention the word Fox!!!!!!
Unless they mean of the animal nature, rather than the vegetable-brained.

A friend of mine in her youth danced at a Hawkwind concert, she was side stage as well...She said it was one of her best memories of her youth. ;D

I think Hawkwind days were very good experimental days, Sam Gopal was the experimental days, Hawkwind was the more settled sequence before becoming the fine art of Motörhead...

Mine too, Jeff. They were the good days - full of hope and decent drugs.
Juggernaut: Lemmie just preferred the heavy rock genre rather than the psycheldelic rock, it's easier to headbang to. I'll have to check out who Sam Gopal is.
