Strap yourselves in, its time for a review of The WildHearts new album... [glow=red,4,000]AWESOME!!![/glow] A Good mix of melodic songs and heavy songs and all with catchy chorus's. Nexus Icon - Heavy start to the album, strange lyrics in the song. Guitaring and drumming top notch. 4/5 Only Love - Slow it down with a melodic song. Damn good beat, one you can dance to. Catchy chorus. Someone That Won't Let Me Go - Good guitar intro. Another melodic track. 3.5/5 Vanilla Radio - One of the singles. Back to the heavy beat and a good singalong, with added music effect. All together now "Where's My Elvis..." 4/5 One Love, One Life, One Girl - Slow guitar intro, quite pleasant. Quite melodic vocals in the intro as well. Medium pace song this one and melodic. 4/5 Get Your Groove On - Fucking Hell!!!!!!! is this The Wildhearts attempting all out punk? ? Whatever they are doing I LOVE IT!!!!!!. 5/5. Stand out track. So Into You - Another single. Another stand out track, not because it was a single. Melodic song. Another sing a long tune. 5/5 There's Only One Hell - Strange intro...reminds me of something off the PHUQ album. Seems they are putting more melody into their songs. 3/5 It's All Up To Me - Great guitar intro..thumping drums...Oh Yesss!!!! I love this. Good beat to this song. They than drop it down to a melodic tune with thumping drums. 3.5/5 Out From The Inside - Back to the heavy music again. Good drum beat and guitars, mix of heavy and melodic. Another track I like. 4/5 Top of the World - Nice intro.Foot tapping and slow headbanging music. Nice ending to the album. 4/5. Overall I give this ;D ;D ;D ;D out of ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Welcome back to The Wildhearts. Jeff

Listening to it now. It's very short but it's good. No ratings from me just yet though.

Well, time to give my opinion and after a good few spins I can now say that I'm actually quite disapointed with this. The Wildhearts Must Be Destroyed is lyrically sub-par and too poppy compared to classic Wildhearts stuff. Yes, they've always been a bit poppy but ths new album sounds bland. The last song, "Top of the World" is shite in my opinion. I really wanted to love this album but it's very average in my opinion. Vanilla Radio is great though. 3/5 or 2/5 - haven't decided I don't think Ginger and the lads will ever match Earth vs the Wildhearts

Cope I don't think they really care if they match "Earth vs The Wildhearts". I read in an article that The Wildhearts have been together 14 years and only officially released 3 albums. All the other stuff is compilations, Japanese albums and other bit stuff.

Maybe not but I had high hopes for this album and it just sounds uninspired.
Why didn't they include the Stormy in the North, Karma in the South single? it tops everything on this I reckon

You never know, 6 months down the line the might re-release it with Stormy on it. They added Caffeine Bomb to Earth Vs didn't they?

I'd give it 3/5. I will always refer back to Earth Vs beacause when I first left home, I lived every bit on that album. I want to like the new one more, but it just ain't the same. I hope that it will grow on me the more I listen to it. Gonna go see them on their own tour coz they were always phenomenal live. Hopefully Danny will be out of rehab by then.

I think Ginger has recently said something along the lines that Danny won't be back cos of his problems.

I love '...Must Be Destroyed'. Very fast, very catchy, very fun. I don't agree that the lyrics are sub par though, and I'm especially partial to Nexus Icon, especially the last verse - 'and it's times like these that he's fighting teh hate...'. A very handy CD for bus journeys. 5/5
