Skyclad are the most original band I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. Their Folkemon album from 2000 was a masterpiece and it came as quite a shock when vocalist/lyricist Martin Walkyier quit the band in 2001. The rest of the band decided to carry on with guitarist Kevin Ridley taking over vocal duties.
The first release from the "new" Skyclad is "No Daylights Nor Heeltaps". It's basically a bunch of their best songs from the past 10 years re recorded in a slightly folkier style with the new line up. This album has really pissed off Martin Walkyier, who feels that the band have no right to sing his lyrics, despite the fact that they wrote the music. A ludicrous stance in my opinion. Anyway the album is superb and Walkyier should be proud that his poetry is sung with such passion and verve. As ever with Skyclad the mixture of guitar and violin works excellently and the lyrics are genius.
"Stand your ground behind the times and refuse to follow fashion, write your poetry with anger and then sing it with a passion"
I eagerly await the next release of all new material from Skyclad and wonder whether Kevin Ridley and come close to martin walkyiers lyrical genius. I hope so.

Good idea. The Maiden ones are still there but they deleted my Sabbath one. I was very proud of that too.
