I love dark colors too... but just made this exception because it is the HD colors and at least here in Brazil , there's not too much... black and silver are the preferences... This color matches the purpose Sportsters was made... Now autumn will be around ... but usually not too much rain.. so let's ride... cheers

I got my latest bike at the end of October.Went out for a quick blast yesterday so I checked the mileage. In each 4 directions from my house I have been -13 miles to Bedford,17 to Northampton,15 to kimbolton, and 25 to peterbough-all roughly at a guess mileage wise.but that is diameter wise-so I have been round the country roads within that diameter (does that make sense-its early !!!!) Bearing in mind I also have only used it at weekends and it has been winter. So I was quite shocked to realise I had done 607 miles just playing about. Roll on summer, oh and Regina-its not long now

Roll on summer, oh and Regina-its not long now Whoa, 600 miles of sheer fun-riding during winter season ?! Nice one Mark, sounds even more impressive in kilometers: (almost) one thousand ! And you're damn right, I'm totally itching to get riding again, the countdown is ticking .... still TWO DAYS to go. Last week I spent quite some time with my baby in the barn to get her shipshape as it should be, filled her up with fresh petrol and brake fluid, bowden cables and chain are greased, battery is fully charged and oil & filter changed. Thank God the tyres are still good enough, so my wallet will be spared this season, I get me new ones every 4 or 5 years depending on the wear and tear. So all that's left to do is dust off the helmet which I just fetched from the attic and as soon as Wednesday comes I'll once more wave goodbye to bloody commuter trains, what a relief. And what's even better, the first meet + ride-out of this year has already been arranged as well .... Now fingers crossed for a dry and pleasant season for the two of us .... Attachments:

Thanks for asking Mark, and glad to hear you're enjoying the roads as well . Yeah, I've been back on two wheels for roughly 2 weeks now, it's simply fantastic, isn't it. However first day was a bit of a shaky ride - I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, that "wobbly" feeling after a several-months hiatus, esp. when shifting down gears for bends and all of a sudden going slooooow.... Weather round here is just perfect for riding, brisk wind but dry and sunny for days now. I use the bike mainly as a mode of transport (trip to work and back, ca. 70 miles) but I also managed to find me a stress-free club of weekend bikers a few years ago, where the occasional rallies are sheer pleasure - like I said no stress nor ridiculous commitment to club rules. The boyfriend though, who has been a patch club member (red/white) for always 3 decades now, naturally gets the giggles every time I talk about my little road warrior club and the mates. It's alright though, I'm fairly thick-skinned . Hope you'll have a great bikers' summer Mark! (same goes of course for Marco and borntobooze, even if they're heading towards "winter" over there)

Pic was taken on Easter weekend, we're all sitting in the beer garden nearby (with softdrinks, arrrrggghhhh...) so all you can see are divers bikes lined up in the car park, mine is somewhere in the background. Attachments:

Great pic Regina. Boyfriend red/white- am I right in thinking they aren't allowed to wear their colours in Germany. Do you ever come over here for the Bulldog Bash and did your fella use to come over for the Kent Custom Bike Show, which was always my favourite. It was near Folkestone which was wear my great nan and grandad lived and we went their most years for a holiday, so as well as the show it bought back great childhood memories.

Yep, you're bang on there Mark, displaying club symbols in public has been forbidden nationwide since last year, but the ban has now been extended to the internet as well: websites showing the red lettering or the winged skull will be taken down by authorities. (Same logo ban goes for Bandidos, Gremium and Outlaws MC) Makes you wonder what happened to freedom of speech - or in this case freedom of expression - doesn't it. As for British bike festivals I've sadly never been to one up till now (except for the MCN Scottish Motorcycle Show when I lived in Aberdeenshire, but that's more of a commercial trade fair). I'd love to though, one day Mark, one day..... The bf hasn't either; he and his Bro's take part in their charity rallies and the annual World Run - except if 's in the US, 1%-er are denied visa, which I find deeply regrettable as I'd like to go see Sturgis or Daytona Beach once in my lifetime ..... oh well, you can't have everything. Early May we'll be going to visit a Danish charter for their weekend party, they'll have the usual entertainment aimed at the biker fraternity like live bands, beer tents, burnout contests, topless bikewash and erotic dance shows (I'll put it mildly, it's mostly a wee bit more than just that. ). However, very much looking forward to it despite all those patch club antics.

hi Regina- yeah im afraid its bollox isn't it. Having ridden a chop when I was younger we always were put in the "biker scum" category .We used to go to bike events, stop at a pub nearby and due to loads of bikers in the area have no problem getting served. Weeks later we would go out for a ride and go back to the same pub and be told "we wont serve your sort". Strange that eh Can you imagine the same pub telling a gypsy or a coloured person the same thing- the pub would be shut down. Im afraid bikers are an easy target for the authorities. If a couple of patch members end up fighting or whatever its headline news, yet it happens every day in other walks of life and nothing is done. I don't know whether you have seen Ross Kemps extreme world covering some Australian patch clubs, but that's more than worrying if you are in the patch club scene. Even if you are associated with a patch member then you risk losing your job ,and even in some cases going to prison!!! I am afraid "freedom" disappeared a long while ago. Here in the Uk we have surveillance cameras everywhere. They tell us its for our own good !!!! The trouble is most people believe this, but has it made any difference to crime statistics-has it fuck. Anyway have a good time in Denmark

Thanks a lot for that Mark, it's most interesting and quite revealing in how whole social groups are being tarred with the same broad brush and stigmatised as "criminal gangs" because of the actions of a few. What really annoys me are the double standards adopted by society, I perfectly understand the link between crime and patch club, but why not do the same to other groups like for instance footy fans (particularly thinking of lower division clubs here) ? But enough already, I'm rambling again ....

Sold my Yamaha darling last week and finally got my new bike yesterday, a Suzuki Marauder 800 cc. Had to cough up 600 € more than I got for the old one (covering the difference by selling some rare Japanese vinyl pressings ), and you might think it's a bit of a daft thing to do now that the biking season is slowly but surly coming to an end now, but I simply couldn't resist. What's more, two week's holiday's gonna start tomorrow, so plenty of time on my hands for riding each and every country road and get used to it (won't take long I assume, the previous bike wasn't much smaller). ..... and of course getting rid of that windshield first thing tomorrow morning Attachments:
