And if you consider that I CLEARLY heard it listening to the album on my portable cd player - I was coming back home from the faculty - you can guess the state of my ears after I went off the bus.

Bill Laswell (who produced Orgasmatron) paid Motorhead a left-handed compliment years ago... (Quoted from Bass Player magazine, 02/92)
Q: Are you still working with Motorhead? A: No, but I like them. They're not that versatile, but they have a commitment to what they do, probably more than most bands. Lemmy's a person; I think he has a lot of integrity. He's really into the shit that he's doing, and he's got a real commitment to being in a band...
I've listened to several of the tracks from Hammered and agree with the percieved general consensus.
As there is only one Motorhead, it would not be fair for us to expect them to 're-invent Metal' with every release. They fact that they do what they do for us as fans is enough for me! And besides, look at all the classic work in the back catalogue...how many bands can boast of that over a similar period of time? They are one of the few bands that could never put out an album below a certain standard under any circumstances, and we are all very fortunate to be able to appreciate that. RC

Well people say that they never change their style but I disagree. I'd say that they are versatile within their own field if that makes sense.

I agree, TBC...the operative phrase being their style. Very few, if any, do what they do...relatively unique and instantly identifiable. I would be the first in my city to buy an Unplugged album by them, if one was released. Lemmy has threatened to do it on a couple of occasions, and it would be further proof of their depth to a world sunk in the morass of non-emotive commercialism. RC

Yeah, I thought about it today in my car, home from work. The music has always been the same, yet all the albums are different (almost) and I actually like'm all. Some more than others of course.

Well, lets cause a little stir
A French person noted earlier that they thought MH were tired after 3 good albums.
I would go further, I would say they are tired full stop, I listened to Hammered yesterday for the 1st time and wasnt that impressed, I know some of the songs will grow on me as they do with every album but for a few albums now I get maybe half of the tracks that are superb and half that are fillers.
I would imagine that the record company demand an album every year (As does lemmys bar bill) but for my money, the best albums have come after the band have taken some time out from studio stuff and built up a good reservoir of songs. eg Orgasmatron, 1916.
As with all suggestions this falls apart when analysis is applied, eg Iron Fist and We Are MH.
I give up, I just prefer the more rock and roll stuff to the heads down and hope for the best cement mixer stuff. Ian

Lemmy never likes Motorhead referred to as metal because they are more rock n roll but there have always been a few real metal tracks. I think now though, the metal is outweighing the rock n roll.

Well this is my 5th or 6th listen to this album and it is far better than We Are Motorhead. Walk A Crooked Mile, yes the 1st riff sounds vaguely like Pretty Vacant's riff (I say vaguely cause I know how to play the PrettyVacant riff). Down the Line, good beat and some damn good guitaring. Brave New World, Lemmys voice is sounding like its straining (at 57 im not surprised). Voices From The War, good all round song. Mine All Mine, ahhhhh!!!!!!!!! touch of rock n roll in this song. Damn good. Shut Your Mouth, heard it before and liked it. Kill The World, again good beat and good song overall. Dr Love, strange song this with the lyrics. No Remorse, Orgasmatron mark 2 with the singing. Red Raw, ouch!!!! this is a fecking rocking song. love it. Serial Killer, I aint worked out whose voice is whose, I think Lemmy starts the spoken word. Yes at the end of the track if you have it up very loud you can hear somehing, not sure if its Lemmy, HHH or Snaggletooth.
Overall this is better than We Are Motorhead, and is a damn good album, not one of their best. This one is middle way. Phil's guitaring is really improving and has some damn good shredding in it. You also noticed Mickey Dee is doing a lot of counting in, is this to help Lemmy?. At 57 years old and living the Rock n Roll Lifestyle he is bound to feel tired. But credit and respect to Lemmy for carrying on with what he and many others love.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sure he's old (56 actually) but I don't think he's struggling. They tour al over the world and haven't lost their edge.
People have been saying Lemmy's voice has been struggling for years.
