Ispired by the title of this thread by MultipleMike: motorhead.proboards9.com/index.cgi?board=generalmusic&action=display&n=1&thread=990&page=1(which actually leads to good music vibes, check it) So! Let's talk ugly music. Distasteful, predictable, offensive, boring or just plain ugly. In a word, bad music. Can be a whole genre, a subgenre, a band or even a single song. If you can quote examples of bad music in your own favourite genre, that' extra points for you. I'll start: Death On The Road by Iron Maiden. I usually love the Maiden, but DotR feels amateurish at best. Bruce struggles with every song. Ugh. So... that's extra points for me I guess ;D

Hmmmmm good topic - should generate some discussions and disagreements - opinions are like assholes after all - we all have one! Personally, I can ignore most music I don't like - it just serves to remind me why I love Metal so much. However - If there's one stye of music that makes me want to commit mass murders it's Country and Western! I hate it with a passion you couldn't begin to comprehend! If there is one redeeming feature of C&W, I believe If you played it very loudly across Iraq 24-7 - within a few days all the terrorists would lay down arms and surrender! Over to the forum - Any thoughts anyone?

I kind of like the Country genre, but it has to be done right. Most mainstream country is very much vomit inducing. Kind of like mainstream rock. "Bad music" is synonymous with the words "The Locust". Some might disagree, though, on the basis that calling their output barely resembles anything musical. If you would like preview of their sound, or a form of auditory emetics, go here: www.myspace.com/thelocust

Hmmmmm good topic - should generate some discussions and disagreements - opinions are like assholes after all - we all have one! And everyone thinks everyone else's stinks But again, I think we are one of the friendliest boards on the net. Of course, if you manage to nudge your fellow No Sleeper to appreciate the gems in what they think it's mud, that's extra extra points ;D Concerning music as torture: both Metallica and Van Halen have been used by the US.

Most people on here love Metal right? (duh!) - but I bet no one loves everything about Metal! For example - Nickelback - surely the most turgid toss masquerading as Music that was ever shat onto this planet! This is Rock Music designed by a Marketing Committee for people who really don't like Rock Music, but are so desperate for credibility - step forward Bon Jovi, Limp Shitdick - Evanescence etc. To quote the Late, great Bill Hicks "ball less soulless corporate little bitches - suckers of satan's cock each and every one!" And to all those who think such bands are a gateway for novices to find their way to real Metal - you are just as bad! There is no possible justification for this foetid excrement to exist! If people can't find their own way to the good stuff without some "entry level" band - then they should go listen to pop! Good People of the forum - Thankyou - Rant over!

Is Nickelback actually spoke of as metal?

I never understood how people could get mad over music... I've never heard of Nickelback spoken of as metal either. Oh well.

I'd like to say told you so, but I won't... I mean, I didn't think it was for real either... Now how could they say that Reco was a GO!GO! and Motörhead a NO!NO! So if anybody here has any connections at EMI please try to find any information regarding their release on the Odeon label #E006-34410.

About getting mad for music... It happens. After all all art is a bit political at least. And sometimes you just get offended by the lyrics... Or you feel like Reco is hampering your fave band's career.
But aye, people are a passionate bunch.

When they do a rap over the top of an old song or tune. That really irritates me and it's getting more common. It seemed to start with Puff Dady covering Every Breath You Take and it's gotten worse.

Agree, rap is worst case scenario from the beginning and it doesn't get better that way...
