What is their best live album so far? I have sticked to the releases that's considered to be official. Whats words worth, Blitzkrieg on Birmingham, Birthdayparty and so on has been left out.
And Riccardo (and everybody else really) stay out of the poll until you have heard the album, please. I remember that you couldn't stay out of the kiss of death poll...
Note that this 3 out of 5 live albums has this line-up.

Better Motörhead than dead has the most beautiful sound, raw and loud, just as it should be. Mikkey must be pleased, the drums sounds, unlike Boneshaker!

With just one vote I can reset it, but since you voted for Hammersmith, I doubt that you'll change you mind.

Gave it a listen through at work today, and the sound is very raw and brutal, almost like a very good bootleg, far away from the overproduced Boneshaker.

I miss Motörhead, Dead men tell no tales and Orgasmatron, but on the other hand, it has some other classics like In the name of tragedy, I got mine, Love me like a reptile and so on, so in the end it's a winner. And since I was there I remember the gig itself so that's also a good reason to like it.

This new album has just two - albeit crucial - flaws: no 'Snaggletooth'/'Rosalie' and nearly the identical setlist as 'Stagefright' which is why I might - for the very first time - stay content with my bit-torrent and not pay for the album later... Soundwise the recording is killer, although the band's playing on 'Stagefright' was slightly better. To all of you who vote for 'No Sleep...' - that album is not representative of Motörhead anymore. This band has evolved into the best - and I've seen a few - live band out there, no longer the fastest, but tight as a rat's arse and with punch-to-perfection playing. 'No Sleep...' was cobbled together from different concerts because the band's playing was that inconsistent and point-and-shoot desperate for being 'the fastest band' out there - if you know the recent 2-disc version you'll know what I mean... There's no way that any of the albums older than this recent effort are objectively better; you all know this: every time we go see Lemmy and the boys they're better than the year before!

To pick one motörhead album, live or studio, is like picking which one of your kids you love the most... I can´t do it (but on the other hand, I don´t have any kids) So I picked the classic, and because, like I said, I like the feeling in it... I wanted to pick everyone, but it was not allowed (And by the way, it wasen´t going to be representative, it was which album we like the best so far.) I love motörhead as much as the next guy (sometimes more) and I´ve been to many shows and I wouldn´t change this lineup for anything in the world... But motoredel, I do agree that "No Sleep.." isn´t representative for todays Motörhead.

not easy, but in the end i went for "no sleep...", simply because when i bought it (right when it was released... ... yep, i am THAT old... ;D), it blew me away. but "better..." is a close follow-up, sounds pretty good, allthough the set is quite "familiar" these days and the artwork sucks (imo)... still, i don't regret buying it! ;D

Is it the real artwork we've seen? In that case I agree, sucks bigtime!

You know you're never older than you feel Menzman. aww... thanx! then i'm moving between 11 and 76 years of age... ;D for the artwork: yes, it has the shitty pic on the cover. else, it's a fold-out digipack (which i quite like, may be a little inconvenient in use, but still much better than the stupid plastic-cases imo). guess "design" always depends on personal taste, but, as the booklet is filled with tons of average band-shots (plus 2 imo really great pix i must admit), i'm not too happy with it. and i'm missing crowd-shots... but for the music... i had a quite long drive today and listened to the album twice... and loved every second of it! sounds really great imo, may not be christal-clear and perfect, but... after all it's motörhead and not rush... ;D menzman is satisfied! ;D ;D ;D
