As I write this, I am listening to WAM for he first time in a long while, and it isn't as good as I once thought it was. Sure, the title track and Stay out of jail are great. I find the album disjointed, and the tracks don't flow naturally - it sounds like a collection of b - sides and out takes. The album openner is very fast - but why follow it with a slow one? The sequencing of the tracks is all wrong IMO. We Are Motorhead should have been track 2, and God save the queen should have been stuck on the end as a bonus track - I don't agree with cover versions being on albums as a rule, it shows a lack of songwriting.
Being totally honest, I hated Hammered at first, but now I realise what a good if not great album it is. The sequencing is a lot better on this one, and WACM has one of Lem's all time classic lyrics. I also love SYM and Dr Love. I agree with most of the posts that say the last 3 tracks are just filler.

I just recently realized the goodness of Brave New World and Voices from the War.

We Are Motorhead is far superior to Hammered ,the title track is brilliant. Stay Out Of Jail,See Me Burning and God Save The Queen are superb.
My fav trax on Hammered are Brave New World and Voices From The War , with Walk A crooked Mile being my third choice. HAMMERED is not a Motorhead album i listen to right the way through (not very often that is).

I was listening to Hammered yesterday, and realized that if the entire album was up to par with the first four songs (I really like Down the Line as well), this could have been the current lineup's best release. Even in spite of its spotty production.
Phil was awesome on this album.

WAM is one of the strongest from the current lineup.

From the current line up in my opinion Overnight Sensation > Inferno > Snakebite Love = Hammered > WAM > Motorizer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Kiss of Death yada fucking yada.... They all sound the same anyway. If latter day motorhead was any good then why does Lem still play mostly My fucking songs for most of the set? I know this really eats Phil c up! 20+ summers on and he is STILL standing in my shadow LOL! peace Fast Eddie
